Dave Hardcastle Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 My, new to me, orange R400, broke down at the track day yesterday. I just wanted to say thank you to all members who lent me multi-meters, battery and their time, you know who you are (as I don't know names). I certainly did not feel on my own with the problems, wonderful club spirit.
Mid Staffs AR Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 A neat summary of what the Club is all about Dave - it was a great day, and hope you got sorted in th endRog
MattWoking Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Yes, I agree. Thanks to all for such a fantastic day. The Caterham which was for sale, is no longer for sale.Apologies for those who I didn't say bye to, you were all on the track and I was watching time tick down for my journey home. Hope you all enjoyed the last session. I ended up doing most of the M25 in the dark ... which I can confirm, was not a lot of fun. It was totally worth it though. Great day, great club.Matt (Yellow 310S, self built ...).
Harrisonbingham Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Thanks for organising. Great day. Thanks to Neil for your help and guidance throughout the day!
Davesvroadsport Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Any news, Dave, on what the problem was/is? Dave
7Up Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 I second! - a super day and brilliant camaraderie from fellow members. My day was rescued by Matt and Tony when I turned up with shot tyres! Many thanks to allIain
jimh Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Thanks to Dave and Simon for organising such a brilliant day. I had a fantastic time but must apologise for the yellow flag I caused when my talent ran out at Charlies. Also thanks to Marvin for showing me that it's not all about horsepower, I obviously need slicks next plus some driving lessons. Hopefully everyone got home safe. See you next year.
marvingbiggsicloud.com Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 I Third!! - Loved every minute , hope the guy who had a mishap on the mountain is ok , and looking forward to some more laps with you in the future !! , ps i wouldnt mind a FEW more horses though !!
L66TEY Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Totally agree Marvin, a superb day - thank you also to Simon and Dave, both for support pre and on the day. Being only my second track day and first time at Cadwell it was a superb experience - and I learnt A LOT! But I must to apologise for the red flag I caused when my ambition outweighed my talent at the bottom of Mansfield, collecting the turn in cone marker approach to the Mountain - plus some Armco barrier paint. Thankfully the damage was more to my pride, than my pride and joy :DWas great to be in a Caterham filled paddock, meeting new faces - albeit no more than 6 at a time (noted Simon)Looking forward to the next one. Dave Hardcastle Posted September 19, 2020 Author Posted September 19, 2020 To cut an increasingly long story short Dave, I'm confident that it was leaking coolant getting into the alternator/electrics. Next morning, after the paid for recovery vehicle ride home, with a charged battery, car started as though there had never been an issue!I have to thank the Cadwell Circuit recovery crew for taking on the job of getting me and the car home. While a lot more expensive than the initially planned tank of Caterham fuel, it could have been worse, I could have been at Anglesey, twice as far from home
