I had a 3.92 open diff.
I bought a Quaife ATB diff brand new and sent it down to Phil at R&R.
I asked if they could sort and refurb a Sierra casing so that I coudl keep the open one intact.
They did exactly that and then installed the Quaife into it and sent it back by courier.
We fitted it and I think it is quieter than the open one we took out.
It's whisper quiet... so it can happen

I know this post is now *sorted* however, if there is anyone else who requires a sierra diff, I have a 3.38 and 3.14 push in shaft at the back of the garage gathering dust I'd be happy to part with.

On a different note, the Sierra diff in my "superstig" (See Aug 2018 LF Mag) knocks when you accelerate and decelerate - it's the sort of knocking where it sounds like there is a loose bolt (which there isn't) in the fixing points.  I have the strengthening bars up through the boot floor - nothing obvious is loose but still is continues to annoyingly knock each time you press the loud pedal.  I'm guessing there's something somewhere inside the diff which is loose so it needs to come out of the car and be rebuilt by R & R.

Does anyone else have this problem or is it just mine which needs a winter refresh ?
