Julian H
What is the spec of the windscreen stanchion to scuttle bolts on a 2006 imperial S3 please?
Area Representative Nick Bassett Posted August 24, 2016 Area Representative Share Posted August 24, 2016 I think it was M8 (8mm) x 25mm - I bought some from Ebay in the last month of so... stainless of course!
Paul Deslandes
M8 x 1.25, domed cap head Allen drive. Margnor near Guildford do them in various lengths. If you haven't already got them, take a look at the fixed brackets with captive nuts. These replace the large washer and nyloc originals and make removing the screen a great deal easier; useful if you swap the full screen for aero or wind deflector for track days etc. I had a quick look at the CC website but couldn't see them listed other than as part of the deflector kit but I'm sure they sell them separately.Paul

Keith_T
Good question. I've been meaning to replace mine as those that also hold the Master Switch Eyebrow are Philips head and have become badly burred (following a number of screen removals). Need to check length now. Dr Slotter
There are these one on the CC parts store http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=1229
Keith_T
Any idea of stanchion to screen screw sizes and is it a standard countersunk?(I lost one years ago).On another fastener issue, just changed out the pedal box cover screws. The standard ones seem a bit soft. When we had a problem in Genoa last year I couldn't loosen with screw driver and ended up using pliers. Just bought stainless socket head cap screws at £2 odd for 50 (from Screwfix) So got some spares available....
Keith_T
Answering my own question (having found them on caterhamparts) 5mm countersunk.
SM25T
Do you mean M5 thread ? Sure they are bigger than that.
Keith_T
For "Screw - Windscreen Assy/Stanchion" (silver) it's "M5 C/sunk".The remaining originals I have look to be a bit chamfered and possibly plated but I will change all to match.

Ray Pearce
I'm sure that Out-Of-A-Box Designs Ltd could come up with a lightweight composite replacement for those heavy aluminium? stanchions.(T's &C's apply. Not suitable for use in rain. No liability accepted for any damage howsoever caused .)
