Cookie Monster
Ive just been through this - the manufacturer can give you a certification but it usually involves providing some pictures & a small fee.
CharlesElliott
Why do you need it certified?
Kevsta
Hi, thanks for that. Just need to determine the manufacturer. Why do I need it? I understand that if the car is sprinted it is possibly going to become a requirement so best it's sorted whilst it's being rebuilt.thanks
Comp Sec
If your sprinting the certification being in place is now a requirement as the ROPS fitted to caterhams are a homogelated design. If you drop a photo of the cage up i'm sure somebody will be able to tell you if it's made by safety devices or caged. There are a few threads running over in the speed area regarding the information needed to be supplied in order to obtain a replacement.
Tigger
If the chassis is going back to Arch mention to them that you intend to use ROPS and they can up-date the harness fixing positions whilst they have it. Although it will depend on what class you intend entering, if Road-going my understanding is that ROPS isn't require.....yet!Tim
Graham Howard
A certified ROPS is a required for road going Caterhams in Sprint events. It is the FHR (frontal head restraint) which is not mandatory for road going cars and this is what may need adjustment of the harness positions.Graham
Tigger
Oops I got my ROPS muddled with my FHR's. Too many acronyms
