  4. Not at all, this is the first time I have really looked since it was put back together (about 10 years). I have now been e-mailing him and all is running well so I am happy bunny. He has been his usual extremely nice and helpful self! Kev
  5. Hi all My K-series VVC (EU2) engine appears to be running lean as the exhaust valves are quite white (inlet are fine). I presume this is in part due to is running standard. What are the thoughts on options? I have spoken to KMAPS but I will need to convert to EU3 ECU (plausible). Or I guess an emerald (probably more expensive). Any advice or experience? Engine has had DVA rough port and upgraded exhaust cam plus 4-2-1 exhaust. Kev
  6. I might be interested in these although not ideal timing etc. Will BM you. Kev
  7. I have one that should fit. Let me know if you are still requiring this. Best wishes Kevin
  8. He says £40. Definitely 185/55/13. Hope that helps. Thanks
  9. Hi, Advertising for a mate.. 4 x 185/55/13 ZZR's. They were made mid 2014( one is 2015 ) and used for some trackdays. Fair bit of life left in them. He doesn't want much for them just needs the garage space. Thanks
  10. Hi, Thanks but really want the later one that's just perspex.
  11. Hi, I would like to get hold of a clear aero screen for the passenger side. It's for an ex race car so all ready have the driver side one. Thanks
  12. I know that the VVC runs wasted spark. From memory, the left hand coil pack is cylinders 1 and 4 and the right pack is 2 and 3. Kev
  13. Hi all, Whilst at Bedford on Monday my IACV cracked open. This caused the engine to hold revs of anywhere around 2-3k. Managed to cable tie it tight enough to work fine for the journey home but I need to organise a replacement. Does anyone know the best place to get a new one of these? I have a road trip coming up in a couple of weeks so would like to sort ASAP. Many thanks in advance Kev
  14. My car did this (K series) and it took ages for me o discover the problem, I eventually found it though and it was the fuel pump (in the tank). I hope you cure the issue soon. Kev
  15. Perfect, sorted now. Many thanks all for your input and guidance. As usual a great resource that helps others. Kev
  16. Hi all, I need to fit a new alternator to my caterham. My engine was from a rover 200 BRM (I know because I fitted it) and the alternator is a Magnetti Marelli 63321238A. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a replacement? I know you can have them serviced and fit new parts but at this stage I'd prefer to just replace it as finding someone and wondering if it was part A B or C that was the problem is beyond my realms of attention as I'm trying to renovate out house so I'd prefer a remove a part and replace with new so that I can fit and forget for now. I've been on the Magnetti Marelli website which is as useful as a chocolate teapot (even found the part number and put in in my basket - but that is all it will let you do). So looking for a stockist. Cheers Kev
  17. Haha, 10 days, one MOT and one trackday at Bedford. No issues so far and totally different in spin up compared to my old one (which was an old Ford original).
  18. Haha - you beat me to it!!! I ordered one of these for my K-series engined 7 and only used it 10 days ago. Works perfectly and wow what a difference! Any chance you could edit the title of this post to read X-flow and K-series starter replacement option? Amazing that I logged on to post this exact same thing as you've done!!!
  19. Paul, Mine has been doing the same (was last year at least). I noticed it at the end of a track day. Exactly the same as yours. I too was worried about CRB but it didn't all stack up. Let me know how you get on with oil change - clearly you will need to get it all hot again to ensure you know it has gone away with oil change. I will be doing the same (when I get the rest of the car back together that is!) Kev
  20. Good point Jonathan! I am waiting to order a few other things from them - will add to the list! Elie, that is the part that the spacer attaches to from underneath. Thank you for finding this part though, much appreciated. Thanks all! K
  21. Hi JV, Thanks for the info and workshop notices. Will now go and have a go at sorting.
  22. Hello all, I am going over my car and while fitting new headlamp brackets, the spacer/washer that goes on the bottom of the headlight bowl is almost rusted to dust! Does anyone know where I might be able to buy two replacements? Many thanks
  23. Hi The sensor wires are Brown,Blue and Black. The wires from the speedo head are Green and Yellow. On a more recent race car i found a third wire in the car loom of Black with white trace. Is it possible to ruin the sensor by connecting it incorrectly?
  24. Hi John could I ask about the Arb / speed sensor and the speedo connection notices please. I'm having an issue with the 3 wires on a new sensor to the 2 wires from the speedo head please. They might throw some light on the problem. Thanks
  25. Having changed the drive shafts on a 2002 S3 I am trying to work out the speedo wiring. Sensor has 3 wires but only 2 from the speedo head. It used to be driven from the Tran X type9 but connections were removed / broken some time ago before I got involved. The new drive shaft has the pick up ring on the driver side. Any guidance will be welcome. Thanks
