CharlesElliott
This one. Are they for the spherical joint uprights or the trunnion ones? I thought they were for spherical joint but now I have them, I'm pretty sure that just a 'normal' 1/2" UNF nut came off.Charles
SM25T
This looks like the turned down nut that goes on the stud through the lower spherical bearing.
Wrightpayne
Only on widetrack as there is a spacer between the upright and spherical bearing.Ian
CharlesElliott
Ah - so on narrow track, you just use a normal 1/2" nyloc?
Mankee
As Ian says, the trimmed down nyloc is for widetracking when you use the spacer under the upright and on top of the bearing. You could widetrack without the spacer and use a normal nyloc. Or narrow track uses a normal nyloc, as you say.
Dorset7
When I fitted new front wishbones on my car (narrow track) these are the replacement nuts sent to me by CC, having fitted them I've had no issues and they torqued up correctly?Could these now be the norm? Nigel Riches
This nut looks like a "hank nut" the turned down spigot is usually fitted into a hole, then swaged out to hold it in place in a thin substrate, ie, sheet metal, but that won't stop it being used in other applications, just be sure the material specifications are compatible.
