Mine did that a few years ago. It was turning forward and back quite a few degrees with each gear shift ..... so I put some bearing lock on the outer face of the top hat flange and retaining circlip to help stop the whole assembly turning and fatiguing the cables.

I have tried looking through the archive to establish the origin of the sensor, found a reference to a farnell part, but looking at that it bears no semblance to the Caterham part, so was wondering if anyone can shed some light on a source for one?

On the packet of the one I luckily bought, it comes from Caerbont with their part number

TES1800-3029. It also has CC's number of 71254 on it. The description is "Speed Sensor 9 pole"

Not sure if Caerbont would sell one directly but Speedy Cables might do a repair for a less than CC want for one if they ever get any that is.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Steve
