virden
I am told (and who am I to doubt) by SWMBO that someone with a tow ball must have backed into her Pug 207, the result is a deep crease in the reat plastic shroud, I have taken the moulding off and tried pushing the dent out, with no joy. Any suggestions please on how I can remove the dent, it is some 2" deep so too deep to fill. Will applying heat help?
SM25T
Sometimes a hot air gun on medium heat may help pop it out. Not too hot.

Mavic82
It depends on the material and construction but have had success with a very hot hairdryer, or mild heat hot air gun to warm it up and then use some shaped soft wood to help shape it back the way it was.most recent was SWMBO mx5, only a few weeks old and some kind person backed in to the front bumper leaving a deep vertical crease. It did not damage the paint thankfully. Heated it up and then pushed most out with my hands. The final shape was recovered with some 1.5"x.5" softwood with a slight radius on the end.got it out completely and you would never know.
virden
Thanks all, it worked a treat, and with surprisingly little heat required.
