Ian Mackenzie Posted February 12, 2015 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I've got a type 9 gearbox in the car, when cold the gearstick centres it self and moves freely, but when its warm it does not self centre and is stiff to move the gear stick.......My initial though is the box is low in oil....any other suggestions...anyone had the same issue?CheersIan Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Titanium7 Posted February 12, 2015 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Could be the spherical bearing in the quick shift. Replacements can be obtained from Titan. This happened to mine but not sure about the difference with yours in regards to the temperature. It's a pretty simple job to replace but you need to get the tunnel top off. 7 wonders of the world Posted February 12, 2015 Share Posted February 12, 2015 If its a spherical joint thats gone you'll find these on ebay form McGills much cheaper than Titan,Has the box been apart recently?Assume you've changed the belhousing to go Duratec Is the recess in the bellhousing lined up fully to allow the selector rod to move without binding, the odd one needs a little fettling, likewise easy on the sealant round this as excess migrates inward.
