Notsohotcams140
Whilst watching a YouTube video, hopefully linked above, I noticed what looks like a 25m stretch of Armco exactly where Mr Durrant exited the track in August. MI have email the organises of Curborough about it but just wondered if anyone had heard about any changes. Based on Mark's off you would imagine a caterham would be in much worse shape hitting Armco. I thought of the poor R400 driver at Harewood who's light touch meant a visit to Arch. hopefully it's not Armco but a cushion that looks like it? mikecocker
If you pause the video at 1.01 it definitely looks like 3 rows of Armco's finest. Should concentrate the mind!
Notsohotcams140
I have emailed the course secretary David Pattison (Man on the bike) to confirm their plans. With the arrival of the Armco they should do something about the hump on the crossover which appeared throughout the season. Will update when I get a reply unless anyone is more in the know. Simon.Rogers
I'd love to type a reply to this and make all sorts of pointed and down right rude remarks about MrD causing Curborough to spend all that cash. But I won't as its his birthday and I'm feeling generous. This does leave the door open for slanderous comments from others though.
OliW
Pre-slander however, I shall wish Mark a happy birthday.

CaterBram
As the majority of other crash barriers have got arrester bags in front of them, do you think they will do that on this section.
Notsohotcams140
Personally I wouldn't implement a change that affects safety without having all the equipment. They may have shock absorbers to go infront of the Armco but people are completing trackdays without it. I might go on Boxing Day to see what its like. As I previously said, I'm awaiting a reply from the Course Secretary.
robmar
"With the arrival of the Armco they should do something about the hump on the crossover which appeared throughout the season"Is this the mythical hump that only appears in P1 on saturdays....rob*whistle*
Notsohotcams140
Reply from Course Secretary: One problem we have is that Recticel no longer make the barriers we have, so we are investigating what type to have there. The hump is actually a slight dip, and this will be levelled early in the year.RegardsDavid
Stuart Miller 7
RobThat'll be the same hump (hollow) that was still present in T1 for Martin and T2 for me. The only difference being that I was fortunate enough that the grass had dried sufficiently for me to steer away from the hedge!I know it was part of the course but I do think it should be rectified as the corner is faster than the hollow will allow - accident waiting to happen in my opinion - think I said as much to Shaun and Gill when we walked the course Saturday a.m.I am surprised at what they've done putting armco there - hardly the ideal solution. I would have thought that a tyre wall or rectocel would be more appropriate.
sjmmarsh
The barrier is about 1m from the edge of the ditch there and 11m from the track at its midpoint. There are also some repairs to the Armco behind the recticel barrier at Woodside. thanks to Lindsay Mercer for takingt he time to investigate. Notsohotcams140
Yes thanks to Lindsay Mercer. Wouldn't want his Cayman SV getting it wrong there, bodywork would be very expensive.
