Kangeroo-ing

Guest

Recommended Posts

I just got a 4 year old RS150. Only 3 miles on clock but in 1st and 2nd gear, espeially when the engine is cold, I get a severe Kangeroo-ing. It is so bad it is hard to drive in low speed traffic. Also, occassionally I also get a sticky throttle cable. Would the problems be related? Is it a easy fit?

It could be the cable sticking or the pivot of the throttle pedal.

Remove pedal box cover and disconnect cable from pedal top. See if pedal pivots freely. See if cable slides freely in the outer. Lubricate pedal pivot or replace cable inner if snagging and outer ok. Bicycle brake inner cable with right size barrel nipple only couple of Pounds in bike shop. Screw nipple to go behind pedal top only a few pence on eBay.

JK - A remap by Caterham would be their latest map rather than a rolling road session, I understand this is free as Caterham didn't have a good map to start with. I assume they'd be happy to have it through the post. I wonder if Caterham have details of what version of the map is on car.

As you say, check the mechanicals first.
