Collecting all the parts to dry sump my 1800K with an external front mounted Brise tank and CC Gold pump.

One item that I need a little help understanding where it fits is the

Part No. 75722 Hi Line Scavenge Filter.

Can anybody describe where on the sump pan (if it does go there) it fits

Do these filters ever need servicing or replacing? I remember when I swopped by DS gear from one engine to the other I dropped these filters in petrol to give them a clean, but thats all. Do they have a life?

Tom, my personal opinion is yes they do! There's only one scavenge in the Caterham sump and even with the gold pump, scavenging is on the limit of the requirements of the system ... any debris of any sort will compromise the scavenge further. Just remove it and clean it.

Holy thread resurrection.

Realised why I've still not removed it and cleaned. The little 4mm cap head is rounded to buggery and I can't get the filter out. I've tried the blow lamp but it's stuck. Tempted to cut the head off with a Dremel, but then I'd be left with a thread stump I might be able to get out.

Ive just though I could cut it, remove the filter and use two small nuts to undo the threaded shank. Does this sound risky?
