Cookie Monster
I need a new silencer with a "cat in the can". Obviously I need to ensure no detrement to the power output! I am looking at Meteor Motorsporst CiC solutions & also Powerspeed. Are there any other suppliers I should be considering?
Markiebabes
Hi Phil have you tried good fabs in long crendon ? They did a couple a few years ago ask john ( bio)

Budjuggler
Powerspeed did a good job for me. And there is a photo of mine on their website
Cookie Monster
Andy In that case I must have seen it! Just waiting for them to come back to me & bracing myself for the quote!
Cookie Monster
Powerspeed haven't phoned me back despite two emails & a phone chase which is disappointing. Good Fabs have priced themselves out the market & I'm getting a impression dont want the job: spoken to three people & got three differing responses so not entirely happy. So apart from Meteor is there anybody else BC'ers have used?
BSA
I wouldn't bother with Goodfabs i had the same experience they got bigger fish to fry i am afraid
john milner
Are there any problems with carbon silencer cans? The pictures look good and they should be shin/ankle friendly but I've not seen anyone other than Meteor offer them.
Cookie Monster
I believe they claim to be cooler
Simon.Rogers1
They can have Carbon composite skin or stainless or titanium. I have run the carbon skin as have others for 4 years now and they are fine. They are cooler than metal but still get bloody hot with a cat in there! BenF
I wouldn't bother with Goodfabs i had the same experience they got bigger fish to fry i am afraid I think that's because of the time of the year, I imagine they're very busy at the moment with professional motorsport stuff. Cookie Monster
Ben Don't doubt it -it's the inconsistency: first telling me they can do it, then they can't & now I have to supply the Cat but can do it at a minimum of £500 + cat +fitting + vat. Ozzy
There's a company next to our office in Thame called Primary Designs. They make bespoke systems for all sorts of exotica, but don't suppose they'll be cheap, judging by some of the kit I've seen them working on! Course, I may be wrong, so might be worth a call. BSA
If you want the best in my opinion and not bothered about the cost then go to BTB
Dave Allen
Phill what about these here I've no idea of price though.
Cookie Monster
Oz/Dave Thanks -I will follow up on both. Oz , are you at Penn tomorrow? BSA - regretably cost is a consideration as I have spent plenty already 😳
BSA
Simpson are excellent on a par with BTB
Smithy77
Another from me for BTB. I put one of their systems on my old Clio 172 and it made a huge difference to performance, and the build quality was second to none. I'm also in the market for an exhaust for the seven and I sent an email to BTB yesterday but not had a response yet.
john milner
My query about carbon was mainly to check if it is a suitable material. It will be hot & acidic inside and cold, hot, wet, dry, icy and pebble-dashed on the outside. I'm pretty much ignorant of carbon and have been tempted by this product but I wouldn't want one if it self destructed in a year or three (i.e. 10-30,000 all season miles). Ads7
Give Chris Tullet exhaust in Aylesbury a call. Never used them myself but seen there work on plenty of VX220's. They may be able to help. Adam
