Check the injector loom, Over time the connector wires and joins get brittle let the car run and one at a time wiggle the wires you will immediately hear a miss fire if you have a faulty connection Edited by - BSA on 14 Jul 2014 09:53:59
  2. I have only one thing to say : You should have bought a Porsche

Speak to Dave Andrews he has delt with them
  5. Simpson are excellent on a par with BTB
  6. If you want the best in my opinion and not bothered about the cost then go to BTB
  7. I wouldn't bother with Goodfabs i had the same experience they got bigger fish to fry i am afraid
  8. As i have said before why don't you drive down to Burtons on the Eastern Avenue ( A12) and buy one and then get back in your car and drive to the factory in Dartford and walk in to the Office of the Factory managers and slam it on his desk ?
  9. Give Burton's a call they will have a suitable Fuel Pump and forward the Invoice on to CC
  10. None of this surprises me i am afraid , My friend purchased a new Factory built SV last year and the finish and fit was truly dreadful how do you rate the HPI Baja SS by the way ?
  11. I saw the first car that they built, I believe it competes in the Magnificent 7's race series My car was on the rollers at the two Steve's last summer and there's was next on. I guess as a 7 type race car with IRS and some interesting suspension components it looked interesting at the right price, Ascetically it left a lot to be desired. The bloke who fabricated the car was there and after an hour or so of making snide remarks about my car and how their design was vastly superior he shut up when he realised my road car had a sequential box, better dampers, magnesium wheels etc etc and was 15 kg lighter with two seats in it compaired to his striped out race car . Oh and my "there crap " K series made 20 bhp more than his Boss racing Duratec, By the way his mate Ed who does the driving was a very nice guy though. Edited by - BSA on 2 Mar 2014 21:34:23

    Nitrons

Quoting captain chaos: ideally..i want to find someone who will open them up... recognise the the valving set up and then I can tell them what I'm looking for. Im not too keen on following other peoples settings...my car is a vx...whether ideal or not..I like a firm ride...urrent set up is way too firm and offers no compliance in wet or damp conditions). Lke others have said, simply throwing on softer springs is only part of the cure... Your question has been answered several times with the opinion Simon at Meteor Motorsport is the Nitron expert to consult
  14. No not at all but slightly more expensive if you cock it up and there have been a few that have. I have been in to quite a few Motorsport workshops and seen many a home build's that leave a lot be desired and Factory cars for that matter, Now that he has been made aware that an R500 doesn't run on Carb's i guess it will be plain sailing.
  15. After reading your post it might be be wiser to getting a Motorsport company like Foulds or Hyperion or the like to build the car for you.Sorry To be brutally honest i think its beyond you Edited by - BSA on 11 Jan 2014 20:33:14
  16. Black heated screen with silver Scuttle in good condition S3 the screen posts have been drilled for race wing mirrors £ 100 Hood with sticks never used as new £ 55
  17. I saw this car in Rob's workshop when he first built the Engine and installed it What struck me saw how small and compact the Puma Engine is and why it was never used in a Caterham, It has a steel crank and rods as standard if i remember correctly cracking engine there is an ex F3 Swindon engine on Piston Heads making 290BHP
  18. Gunderson, what about that lovely six speed box i sold you ? Matt
  19. They have loads of the £78.00 Torq ones at the Homebase in Enfield on the A10 I would just pop down to nearest large branch and have a look , To be honest its not the best organized company when it comes to exactly what stock their holding.
  20. I got one from Home Base believe it or not its the same as the Machine Mart one but branded as Torqs rated at 1 tonne it was £ 78.00 Edited by - BSA on 13 Aug 2013 17:08:45

    Superchargers

Totally agree Jason their are loads of company's out there Supercharging the Duratec there really is no great secret a set of lower comp Pistons and may be a set of steel Rods. Mr SKC you need to get off your high horse i understand your after business but over the years there have been many a Engine Builder posting on this forum who have given insight into their Engine Components, Ammo & Dave Andrews are just two i can mention your not doing your self any favors with that attitude. 22. Catastrada an Elite IL 200 6 speed would be ok for your Duratec if its under 200lb torque I bought mine through Simon at Meteor Motorsport who supplied the mounting bracket and worked out the ratios BUT if you have got any ideas of using it on the road forget it its a pig it was never designed for road use.
