simonpa
Probably because they charge a fortune for the AP front pads. The rears are standard Sierra rear brake pads.
Stationary M25 Traveller
Not quite sure why the blue dot rears are cheaper than the standard rears. Just be thankful it is the case !
johnnyseven
Are these only available through caterham?
Grim Reaper
Can I confirm that the rear brake discs are off a Triumph Spitfire (Front)? Just taken mine off to get the diff out and they look a bit shabby so thought I might as well change them if new one's aren't too costly.
Stationary M25 Traveller
Yes - standard front and rears are the same ... available very cheap everywhere. 232mm dia solid discs ex Spitfire
Roger Ford
£10 delivered from ebay (ignore the image). Twice that, plus VAT and postage from Caterham. Somewhere in the middle of those from Rimmer Bros and most other places.
Stationary M25 Traveller
From the advert ... brake disc single .... quantity 2 for £10. How confusing is that ? Do you think the 'single' means solid ... ie not vented (as shown in pic) ?
Roger Ford
None left now, I bought them both. Sorry :)

Area Representative Richard Price Posted January 9, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted January 9, 2014 johnnyseven , Do you know what pads you have in the front? The "30B013A" or "blue spot" have a higher coefficient of friction to help move the brake bias rearwards. Using any old stock pads in the rear may lead to too much bias towards the front, and therefore less overall braking performance. Don't underestimate how much of the cars stopping power actually comes from the rear brakes.....
johnnyseven
Richard-- I'm pretty sure there pagid- not sure which ones - I've also got a ap brake valve fitted but have never felt the need to move it from the settings the car came with - lol
