richy
Does keeping a Caterham on a trailer (BJ MInno) in a garage as normal storage affect the trailer's suspension long-term? Richy
elie boone
I would guess that the tyres will suffer more than the suspension, it all depends on how long the trailer sits in the garage , if you take it out regularly then i think it's no problem at all. The coils on a car do go off after a number of years of standing without moving.
Area Representative paul richards Posted November 27, 2013 Area Representative Share Posted November 27, 2013 I used to store a race car on a trailer and there were no long term problems. I think it's important that the trailer is moved occasionally to ensure tyres are not resting on the same spot all the time.
Gavin H
Wouldn't it be striaghtforward to shove the trailer on axle stands (assuming you have them) if it is going to be in the same place for a long time? I guess you then have the same problem for the tyres on the Caterham on the trailer...
CharlesElliott
Had my Minno for 9 years with the car stored on top of it. No issues.
richy
Sounds like it'll be OK then. Thanks for the advice. Will move it occasionally to protect the tyres from damage. The Caterham's on & off frequently anyway. Richy
