markahope
Can someone tell me what the tread depth is on an unused Avon CR500? I think it may be 6mm but am not certain.

Z3MCJez
2013 CR500s are different from 2012 and prior. But maybe they always were 6mm. Jez

rj
Slightly OT but does anyone know how the tyres were altered for 2013?
Z3MCJez
There was something in the old tyres, I don't know what, that was becoming increasingly expensive and increasingly scarce. The new tyres offer less grip (race conditions) and wear much worse. Indeed, as they get hot lumps of rubber fall off them. There was also a batch where delaminations were common on track. I do think that was a batch though. I appreciate I haven't answered the qs! Jez

Gnockoff
Perhaps there's a difference between 13 and 15 inch tyres, my 15 inch 195 is definitely 6mm in the centre groove. It also had a sticker with 1440mm on it which I took to be the circumference. Brian
