Bert320
Thanks Jason, do you know what the absolute minimum required cut out is?
Myles
Have a gander at my tribute/reminder of the late, great, Lawrence Hoy here Plenty of pics of his Hoyabusa... It's a pretty-minimal cut-out really. Dunno if you can achieve anything better.
The Pikey
It does requires a fair but out the bonnet. I had one made with the louvres on one side only I think. Pic here Jason
Krismuss
Myles, Great pics of the Hoyabusa, did you know it was up for sale earlier this year (only saw the ad whilst surfing for Busa Caterhams after I sold my Blackbird ☹️ ) Long term I still have my heart set on a Busa 7 and I think that one was a steal at circa £15k from memory (though it needed a bit of work to get back on the road). My long term aim is to hang out a few more years till Jason's beast has gone through a few more owners till I can afford it (wonder where it is now?) 😬 Chris

He sold it down by the south coast somewhere ☹️ Still the fastest 7 I have driven. Jason

David Mirylees
Always thought that this was just about the quickest 7 I'd seen. Supercharged Hayabusa, and I can't see any bonnet cut-outs - there may well be further videos showing the installation. Cheers
Adrian Williams
David, that's an SV which is why there are no bonnet cut-outs. Adrian
Area Representative bluenose Posted October 26, 2011 Area Representative Share Posted October 26, 2011 I don't think it has got anything to do with it being an SV. The company that produces them in Canada use a special inlet manaifold that the throttle bodies attach to that are bent in such a way that the whole lot fits under the bonnet. I think there is a chap on Pistonheads, Noger who has an S3 with a Hayabusa that has nothing sticking out the top. I think he uses a similar arrangement. David Mirylees
May well be an SV - unfortunately all I can see in a 7 at my tender years is a SIII - unless I can count the windscreen hood studs!! Regardless, here's a link to the Canadian Hyabusa installation (in an SV) which may be of help/interest

Area Representative bluenose Posted October 27, 2011 Area Representative Share Posted October 27, 2011 Ok, it looked like a Hayabusa to me However the way he has managed to squeeeze the throttle bodies under the bonnet seems a good idea although I would be interested to know how it would affect engine power.
