hickton Posted June 13, 2010 Share Posted June 13, 2010 I get a noise, like a metallic chatter, when I get too 3500 in all gears ( not sure about 1st as I tend to get into second before I get that high). There is no noise if I rev out of gear. Checked that there is oil in the gearbox and checked all round for loose panels ect. Anyone had a similar problem? It proved to be a noise from the exhaust, the primaries on mine are just a push fit into the cat/collector & they rattled at certain revs. Cured by tapping up some thin strips of stainless into the tiny gap to make them a snug fit Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Eccles Posted June 15, 2010 Share Posted June 15, 2010 Not sure what RPM it happens at but I get a resonance from the wiper drive mechanism, I have shoved a bit of foam up under the dash between the drive and bulkhead (in center of dash) which has reduced it somewhat.
