  1. I had a very similar issue on my Sigma engined 310R. I first noticed when I could only get about 120 mile range from the fuel tank... At that point the speedo seemed ok, but later it would drop from time to time at higher speeds before recovering. After comparing the odometer with a GPS watch I realised the recorded mileage was significantly less than GPS mileage. The light on the sensor seemed to be showing triggering was working ok at slow speed, but on-road testing was still showing issues. I had the sensor gap checked and adjusted, but not long after this the sensor completely failed. It's since been replaced and I have a working speedo and odometer again. Darren.
  2. Luke "Caterham" branded harnesses £140 - NOW SOLD Taken from my 2015 car, FIA label shows not valid after 2019 for one set, and 2020 for the other. Comes with original bolts/washers/tophats. Collection from Bracknell/Old Windsor or ReHaB/AWESOME meetings, or could be shipped by your choice of courier at cost.
  3. Thanks for the link JK - I had wondered about that option. Based on the gauge's behaviour - sits at zero with ignition off, goes straight up to around 6 bar with ignition on and engine off, then has some movement on top of that with engine running - it probably needs a new coil. Thanks Chris - I see where they're coming from with that idea. I'll get in touch. I've also left a message with Redline to find out if they have them. cheers, Darren.
  4. My 2015 310R's oil pressure gauge has gone faulty, and I'm looking for a replacement. Caterham don't appear to sell this type. The sender is fine (tested by swapping out the gauge.) Anyone got a spare one after switching to a mechanical gauge? cheers, Darren.
  5. Thanks Nick - just replied to your private message, as these do have the slot to accept a crotch strap.

  8. I bought 2 sets of TRS Magnum 4 point harnesses from Demon Tweeks late last year, and have just got round to looking at fitting them. These harnesses were labeled as Caterham specific, but are different from the existing Luke harnesses. Car is a 2015 S3 310R. The existing harnesses have a 15mm hole in the mounting plates, and there is a crinkle washer with a top hat spacer between the mounting plate and the boss in the chassis. My understanding is that this allows the bolt to be torqued up, and the mounting plate can rotate if needed. The new harness mounting plates have a 10.8mm hole which is slightly smaller than the supplied bolt. This could just be the thickness of the power coating. No washers/spacers were supplied with the harnesses, just a bolt and plastic cap for it. I emailed TRS and they stated that they only supply these harnesses with a 11mm bolt in plate or snap hooks. How can I fit these harnesses safely? Do the mounting plate holes need to be drilled out, and a suitable top hat spacer used? The mounting plate is 4mm, compared to 3mm for the Luke one. Drilling out the hole to 15mm would leave the same amount of metal around the hole as the Luke one. Cheers, Darren. Above: Existing harness showing top hat spacer/washer. Above: original mounting plate at the top, compared to new mounting plate. Above: part number of TRS Magnum harness.
  9. Thanks all - good to hear I'm not the only one! Nigel - My steering wheel looks like it could go 20-25mm towards the dash, so there is potential for the seat to be moved forward a notch. After taking the pics and looking at the harness more, I've had some more thoughts... First pic shows how much space there is between the buckle and me in a t-shirt. I reckon this gap is about 10cm. Next, this shows the lap belt tightened as far as it can go. The limitation is the stitching of the wider section to the webbing: And here's how close the adjuster is to the edge of the seat currently: The amount of loose webbing on the outside of the adjuster is over 30cm per side, which seems like a lot of adjustment to me. I appreciate it needs to cater for Tilletts and S-type seats, fully forward to fully back, and a variety of body sizes in different clothing. If the webbing connecting the lap belt to the car is shortened (either by reducing its length like the extra adjuster on the Schroth harness, or having Luke shorten it) this will potentially give a little bit of extra tightness, but the adjuster will become very close to the hole in the side of the seat. Looking at the harnesses, I think the main issue for me is that the wider section of the lap belt which is sewn to the webbing is preventing the harness being tightened sufficiently. I'm now wondering if Luke would be able to make a lap belt where the wider section is the same length as normal, but less of it is sewn to the webbing. If this happened in conjunction with shortening the lap belt section which goes through the seat it would be useful, and there would still be almost the same range of adjustment.
  10. After changing to a 310R with lowered floors and Tilletts from a '97 SuperSport with S-types, I've got a bit of an issue with getting the harnesses tight enough unless seriously togged up! It's true that I'm a skinny git, but I can't be the only one, and it's not practical to be wearing a fleece and jacket when it's 20C+. My previous 7 had the straps fully tightened if I was driving in a t-shirt. Some metric chassis have extra bosses a few cm further back which could be used for mounting the harness, but my car doesn't have these. I contacted Luke and they can shorten the lap straps on the harness for a small fee, but this would put the adjusters inside the slots on the seat, and therefore really hard to adjust. There are other harness brands that might work better - Schroth were mentioned. Their harnesses have thinner webbing for use with HANS kit, and I'd prefer the wider webbing. Other thoughts: - Soft bits Tillett seat pads. There are 2 thicknesses available. The thicker one has 1" padding - which will compress somewhat, but that's not going to be enough on its own. - raising the seat - either removing the lowered floor or raising the seat runners would effectively take some of the slack out of the lap belts. - adding the crutch strap. Although this would keep the buckle lower, it's not going to fix the fact that the lap straps aren't tight enough. - switching to S-type seats. This would raise me up,and thus tighten the lap straps. Bit of a last resort as I'd quite like to keep the Tilletts. I'm interested to hear if anyone else has had a similar issue, and how they solved it. (And yes, most of ReHaB have already suggested increased pie consumption!) thanks, Darren.
  11. No worries - it's now in the post to you. cheers, Darren.
  12. Hi Andrew, I've replied to your BlatMail. cheers, Darren.
  13. Labelled on the front as "Classic/Roadsport/Superlight" this refers to K-series variants including SVs. I think it is from 2003. The owner's ID and servicing sections are blank. It's in good condition. £10, including postage within the UK. Happy to post overseas, but would need to check postage costs.
  14. I've got a Caterham hire voucher from Caterham Gatwick which came as part of the package when I bought a used car from them last year. It's worth £150 off a rental, and expires in early April. Happy to post to someone who would get some use out of it. cheers, Darren. Updated Feb 13: voucher has now gone.
  15. BTTT, in case anyone is interested before I advertise them on eBay. cheers, Darren.
  16. Spotted yesterday afternoon whilst my other half was waiting to find a gap in the traffic to pull out of a car park. Hope you found some quieter roads to enjoy!
  17. As part of my garage clearout (and my new car being on 13s), the following 14 inch "Minilite copy" wheels are for sale. All were previously on my '97 DeDion 1.6K SuperSport. Collection from near Bracknell, Berkshire (or potentially at ReHaB meets.) Could be couriered at buyer's expense, but not sure how to package them. No obvious offset markings on these wheels, but rough measurement from the hub facing part to a bar placed across the wheel (below the protruding rim) is 105mm. <edited to remove SOLD wheels> Two Gates 6Jx14 (stamped MX-1460) - 2 wheels, with 4 metal "push in from rear" centres with 7 logos. One of the centres has been partially crushed at some point. Yokohama A048 tyres (probably track use only.) These wheels came with the car when I bought it in 2004. Lacquer is lifting on the inside. Outside is better, but lacquer is starting to go. One of the wheels has Araldite stuck to the rim (for a speedo magnet, before I mounted it on the hub.) £50
  18. Updated to show current status - still some items left. Will leave it another few days and then consider eBay for the rest.
  19. I have some 14" wheels from my previous 7 in the garage, and I think some are 2 gates. Is it possible to measure the runout with a tyre in place, and without bolting it the car? cheers, Darren.
  20. Hiya Nick, sorry I should have updated the post - auyt is arranging shipping for the heatshield.
