  1. Ah - so raiding the office coffee supplies for plastic beakers and spoons could be useful 🤔 Thanks Peter - I ordered some POR 15 from Frosts this morning
  2. Any idea how much POR 15 would be needed to cover the rear A frame and chassis tubes from the rear of the cockpit to the back of the car?hijack> cheers, Darren.
  3. Paul - for the sake of £15 Bedford can be close enough I'll give 'em a call. Pete, Chris - I'm probably going to buy the Draper conditioner, I have access to a charger for those times when more current is needed. cheers, Darren.
  4. Well I've been through a dozen search results, but haven't found any comments regarding this alternative battery... I've just been phoning around for prices of Banner 53034 batteries (seems to be £50-52+VAT in Berks, Bucks area) and one company suggested an alternative Banner battery - PLA896 which has a 2yr warranty rather than 3, and is only £39.43+VAT. There was also a BAT896 for £33.45+VAT, but they weren't sure of the warranty. I'd be interested in useful ( ) opinions and thoughts on this. Also, Halfords have the Draper conditioner for 20 or 30 quid. The small print says that you shouldn't leave it permanently connected for small/motorcycle batteries... Does this include the 53034? Does anyone have a circuit diagram to build a conditioner - I would have thought it's probably only a constant voltage source at around 150mA. cheers, Darren.
  5. I guess I should have expected that answer 😬 My car came with both poppered carpet and rubber mats. Will the under seat carpets come out without removing the seats?
  6. After the extremely damp journey back in my new 7 yesterday, I noticed today that the carpets under the seat base and the popper'ed footwell carpets are soaked through. I've hung up the removable ones (and they are still dripping), and used newspaper and old towels to absorb a load of water from the seat carpet. Should I use a hair dryer on them now, leave them with more towels or is there a better way 🤔 cheers, Darren.
  7. Cheers Matt - The grin has started 😬 Thanks again for your time yesterday; I'm really looking forward to collecting the car. I'm still having to pinch myself! cheers, Darren
  8. Hi Steve, I also emailed you for pics the other day. Did you get my email? cheers, Darren.
  9. I'm guessing that you wouldn't park anything that's likely to drip oil on the upper level of an open ramp version

It might also be worth looking at some of the cheaper meters from Maplins. There's one at around a fiver that a few colleagues have bought for general use. PS: Never put a DVM "out of the way" in front of your car on the ground, it's bound to get crunched at some point. ☹️
  11. I think I might have one of these at home as I once owned a J-reg Astra. I'll have a check, but let me know if you're interested.
