SimB
Sorry this is a bit of a numpty question... My Roadsport has 'superlight suspension' according to CC's records. What exactly does that mean in terms of differences to the standard setup? Car is a '97 Roadsport. Thanks, Simon
mav
Probably widetrack and adjustable height
SimB
Well I do have adjustable height - seem to be adjustable Bilsteins fitted. Presumably I could check widetrack by measuring?
Mr Locust
On the 2002 order form it meant: Wide track front Watts link rear Adjustable platforms Ian Green and Silver Roadsport 😬
SimB
Hmmm, definitely no watts link at the back. Anybody have the dimensions for the widetrack front?
davef
Widetrack is the same width as the rear. Dave
Stationary M25 Traveller
All sounds like my SV's suspension. ****************** And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking... And racing around to come up behind you again. photos
SimB
I suspect then that the front is not wide-track - though it's a bit difficult to tell with 205's on the back and 175's on the front. Is there a sure way of telling wide-track vs normal by looking. A search revealed two methods - one an extra cross piece (like an A) on the lower wishbone and the other an extension on the damper. Though neither seems fool-proof though - the latter may not be so with adjustable dampers it seems. So how do I tell for sure - can somebody give me a measurement - say for the ARB? Cheers Simon
Paul Bowden
Wide Track has a track of 1336mm and the normal is 1270 mm.. Edited by - Paul Bowden on 23 Mar 2007 18:37:

Stationary M25 Traveller
Mav, I thought as much. Cheers. Presumably to help offset the mass of the Fat Boy behind the wheel ? ****************** And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking...
