Widetrack lower damper mount

Help please am I doing something wrong?

I am assembling my new widetrack suspension and I come to the bottom damper mount and insert a 32mm long bush in the damper, thats OK. But when I offer this up to the wishbone there is a gap at either side of the bush *confused* surely this is not right, am I missing some washers or have I got the wrong bush.

Gap in wishbone is 35mm.

Rishy,

I have just put my widetrack kit on and found a similar problem, but not so pronounced. I found I had about 1.5mm gap between the wishbone and the bush in the damper. I simply added 2 washers to pack out to leave no play. Are you refitting M1 or M0 dampers?

I have M0s and suspect the problem may not occur with M1s, but can't be 100%.

Regards,

Matt.

Just a thought. Are the new wishbones that you are fitting manufactured by Arch or Caged? Just wondering Caged ones are slightly different spec.

Can't see that they should be if the new Caged chassis cars are still using Billy's.

Steve - Wishbones are from Arch

Castrol - Bush 32mm - wishbone gap 35mm(ish) = 3mm or 1.5per side of bush

Fitting Nitron dampers *cool*

Looks like washers then - suppose that if the bush is 35mm long then the damper could slide on the bush which doesn't seem right, the washers will hold the damper eye central in the wishbone.

Thanks All
