  1. Are there any known issues with running decat or smells or running issues?
  2. That's interesting Chris, perhaps an upgrade is in order :) There's a YouTube video of a purple decat'd 360R racing a +500bhp Range Rover. That car does seem to sound better than mine, hence my original thoughts.....prefer the upgrade idea though!
  3. Sorry for the hijack but I've also been a little disappointed with the exhaust sound on my 360R. Other cars seem much more roarty in comparison. I've wondered if this was due to the cat...
  4. I've applied roofing repair mastic to the inside of my rear wings. It's not at all smooth but should I hope do the trick.
  5. Once again thanks for all your feedback. Pretty much decided I'll be getting a vinyl half hood, but how useful is the roll bag? Is it really worth the extra?
  6. Hi all, Apologies for another daft-boy question, but how do you adjust the brake and accelerator peddles? I find the brake peddle far too low when trying to heel and toe. Cheers.
  7. Thanks guys. Some really helpful advice and insight on both my threads ;-) I think I've decided which one I'll go for in the New Year. Merry Christmas!

  9. Thanks for all your responses. As usual it can be a mine-field if you over think it.... My plan is to make the car as "usable" as possible for most of the year, but I suppose there's no perfect solution to our changeable weather! Without carrying all equipment with you all of the time there's going to be compromise. Does anyone have a photo of the Thundersport's large eyelet Phil G has referred too for the side fixing? Also has anyone come up with a good way to carry the doors when not in use? I know the fold in half but I'd worry about damaging them, particularly the clear window plastic. I'm also wondering how effective the CC perspex wind-deflectors are. I had similar on my Morgan and they were okay, seemed to help cut down wind blast a little.
  10. Does anyone have any comments regarding the differences between the Softbits and Thundersport offerings? Softbits can supply in either a canvas type material or vinyl. Thundersport seem to do vinyl and mohair. I'm currently thinking of vinyl but would be interested in any thoughts regarding material, ease of use and quality from either supplier. Vinyl my preference as it would match the existing boot cover and doors. Also are half-hoods that good/effective and a real alternative to the full hood?

  12. I'm surprised there's no difference between the dampers/springs as my recollection is quite a different ride. I guess the other differences, rim/tyre combination, wide track and roll bar will also change the way a car feels. I could easily be wrong but will drive the same roads again in my car to see how it feels. I may even see if a back to back comparison is possible once the weather improves.
  13. Andy, Its difficult for me to be totally sure but I suspect I found it easier to drive the S quicker and more confidently from the word go. Admittedly, the car wasn't mine (if you know what I mean) and I'm yet to drive the same section of road in my car. Also it was a 310 rather than my 360, so their are differences there too. Don't get me wrong but the R version is a fine car but it is more focused. I was surprised how different they are....but then surely that's what CC intended! Clearly I'd need more time behind the wheel to fully evaluate but I would suggest for touring and long drives then go with the S. For track days and short mad blats the R could be preferable. Really the only way to tell is a back to back drive. Sorry I can't be more conclusive. Andy
  14. Andy, I'm new to ownership and must confess to only having driven S's and Roadsport's prior to purchasing my R spec car. If I'm honest with my limited experience so far (800 miles) I suspect an S may have suited my road focused needs more. It's very early days for me and my opinion may change once I've got to grips with it. Andy
  15. Jonathan, Thanks again for your response. It seems nothing is straight forward when trying to up grade lighting! Legality wouldn't be too much of a concern, but insurance implication would. On this basis, and bearing in mind my recent 3rd brake light install, I'm probably best leaving things as they are, at least for now. cheers, Andy
  16. In my quest to improve general lighting arrangements I've now turned my attention to the illumination from the standard clusters. Whilst surfing I've found a few well priced (£20 a pair) LED replacement bulbs for both the brake/side lights and indicators. The only thing is the advert states there're not for road use. Is this the case for all LED after market bulbs and is anyone using them? I know replacement LED clusters are available but they're rather expensive.
  17. Ahh, thanks Jonathan, Hopefully this will work: Nope, I give up for now!
  18. Right, here goes my first attempt to post photos of my nearly completed install. Still need to finish tidying the cable and cover the nut and bolt. its bright! https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7rieh9u7sr53vaz/AABMFKcOZIxMPUgc2VPl5r3sa?dl=0 Andy
  19. Jonathan, will do. who do do people host their photos with these days? Since Photobucket became difficult I've not post any.
  20. Well I've installed the rain lights and sub loom and I'm quite pleased. The lights very bright for a brake light in the dark but as usage will be main during daylight hours and reasonable weather it should be fine. After all the reason for installing the additional unit was so I'd seen braking! One downside is the light will obscure rear vision a bit; I couldn't quite install as planned, but then vision as it was crap anyway with FIA roll bar! Oh, and the green wire on the sub-loom is the live. :-)
  21. Hi Jonathan, I emailed the manufacturer a weeks ago but haven't received a response. Agree, I'll use a multimeter.... Andy
  22. Well the units arrived and there's no mention of the need to include a resistor. So I guess it doesn't need one.... I've also got the CC sub loom, anyone know which of the two (grey and green) is the live and earth?
  23. Nick, A photo or two would be fantastic if you could. cheers Andy
  24. Thanks Nick, The spec for the one I've ordered says it will run between 9 and 14V, so I'm hoping it will be okay....fingers crossed. Obviously if ones supplied or the instructions say it needs a resistor then I'll fit one. Andy
  25. ....and, if your really lucky they whine like a b@$+ard!
