  1. Thanks guys, Checking the oil cold would seem to be the simplest and best way to do it. There does appear to be a huge variance when warm. In 34 years of driving I've never found checking the oil a problem!
  2. Thanks ECR. Doesn't seem right the standard cap is allowed to leak. Is it "enthusiastic" driving which causes the problem.....so my fault then? Not sure I'm to keen on loosing the warning light.
  3. Thanks Jim, The caps definitely still leaking as there was a deposit below, not just a dribble or smear. Thanks also ECR, The car came with what may be the cap you're referring to. It looks like a cap with a black bellow? If correct this would do away with the level sensor... In fact this: https://caterhamparts.co.uk/master-cylinder/914-cap-race-master-cylinder.html
  4. I've previously queried a leaking reservoir cap under warranty. Other than trying to tighten it more I don't think the dealer did anything much and fobbed me off. Today I've noticed it's still leaking, assuming this isn't unusual what's the normal fix?
  5. I don't check the oil level in my 2.0 Duratec very often and I'm unsure of the correct process. The manual states run to normal operating temperature and switch off, then wipe the dipstick, reinsert and leave of thirty seconds before reading. When I follow this process the stick registers minimum. However leave it five minutes and read again and it's full. Obviously the extra time allows the oil to settle. So, what's the correct procedure please? Its only around 1000 miles or so since its service and the cars now done 2400 miles in total, so I wouldn't have thought it would be burning/using any oil.

Aeroscreen, Thanks for the response. Brooklands sound good.....typically I've just bought a half hood! Definitely something I'll consider. It's a shame UK summers aren't always as good as this year! A full screen and weather gear seems such a waste/unnecessary at the moment, though I'm sure that will change .....

Aeroscreens, beautiful car and love the idea of long wings and the Brookland screens. How do you find the screens, are they very effective? Presumably there's some aero benefit too? Id love the idea of them on my car but not sure about the chrome finish as mines largely black and carbon.
  8. Thanks all. I think I'll probably go with a full size hood holder. It has to be easier to store/remove the half hood and is much more versatile, if a little big. Cheers, Andy
  9. Thanks guys. I'm thinking a full hood bag might easier.....
  10. ......£3700, I'll live with the chirp thank you!
  11. SMT25's suggestion won't help. As mentioned previously you'll probably need to move the clutch, brake and throttle positions in the pedal box then play bending the throttle pedal. For some reason CC initially set mine up to make life more difficult than necessary....
  12. Are the any after market solutions which could resolve?
  13. I've recently acquired a half hood for my car. As you'd expect it's so much easier to fit but how do you carry in/on the car when not in use? Just stuff it in the the boot or use a bespoke carrier? Thoughts/experience and any photos would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Andy
  14. Mines the same and was told "they all do that sir!" Off topic, what's your LSD like? Mine whines like a b@5tard between 50 and 70 mph. Again, "they all do that sir."
  15. My 2017 360R came with a two position adjustable peddle box. For some reason CC built the car with the clutch and brake on on the further position and the throttle on the nearest. I've since moved the throttle position to the rear and bent it to assist with aid heel and toeing, but without much success. The brake and clutch also need to be moved forwards. Throttle still operates on a cable.
  16. Mine idles at 1000 rpm, which I've always though was a little high.
  17. Yes trowel grade, though I did warm it up a little to assist with brush application. Below is the one I used, though I think the cost has increased...
  18. I've painted roofing mastic to the underside of the wings. It's cured to a thick firm and slightly soft finish and should (hopefully) protect against flying debris. All seems fine after 1800 miles. It doesn't look particularly nice as it goes on thick and gloppy but at £10 a tin I don't think you can go wrong.

  20. The light I fitted came with its own cable, which I connected to subloom in the boot. From memory the subloom will only get you into the boot.
  21. I plugged the sub loom into these. Much better than butchering the main wiring...
  22. Thanks again Jonathan. A quick attempt.... The below hopefully shows my new LED in dipped mode. It was fairly bright day and I don't think they're correctly adjusted. Definitely brighter and whiter than standard.
  23. Thanks guys. I'll give lower pressures a go and see how she feels. I guess long term different springs and dampers may be the best option. Something more touring oriented but still with track ability would good (I really need to take the plunge and do my first track day!)
  24. I'm finding the ride very hard and jittery in my 360R. The cars currently only being used on the road. I appreciate I probably need to get it flat-floored to to make the most of it but I'm wondering if lower tyre pressures might help in the short term. Currently running 21psi cold which seems to give around 22psi after a run on 6"/8" Apollos. Any suggestions?
  25. As mentioned in my earlier post LED sidelight bulbs do a pretty good job as DLR lights and avoid the potential flashing scenario. If I'd bothered working out how to post pictures I could share....
