  1. I am trying to start the engine for the first time. However, when the ignition key is in position 1 or 2 the starter motor runs and in position 3 (the sprung position) it stops. This means something is transposed - could be on the switch or maybe a relay. Looking at the multifunction plugs near to the ECU - MFRU Input Plug seems to be wired differently to the manual. The white and pink wire is on the top left pin (looking from the pin side), I think this is Pin 1. The diagram has this connected to the lower centre pin (Pin 5) which on mine is not used. 2 Questions: 1 Please can someone with a roadsport or classic take a quick look at theirs for me? 2 Does anyone know how to remove a wire from this MFRU plug please? If you have time to call me please do! 0870 9044720 Cheers, Steve See some photo's here It's arrived - build in progress Edited by - grubbster on 7 Sep 2003 17:36:40
  2. Hi Charles, I had the same thoughts. The 'hard' plastic covers (funnel shaped things) on the ball joints I discarded (well put out of the way - just in case). The 'soft' covers I cut the ends off and slipped onto the track rods - this looks correct according to the pictures I took of cars at the factory. You can see mine in the first album at my link below. So I think you are OK! Also, Charles please could you look at my tech post and look at your wiring for me (on the engine loom) Section 19 page 5 in your manual - 3rd connector shown. Ta! 3. Thanks Paul. The pedal just doesn't firm up - it isn't particularly spongey either. At the limit of travel I can still rotate the front hubs by hand so something is very wrong! I'll come back to it next week. See some photo's here It's arrived - build in progress
  4. Thanks Ken, I'll give it a go. See some photo's here It's arrived - build in progress
  5. The pedal is only reaching the floor hypothetically. See some photo's here It's arrived - build in progress
  6. I have seen a few threads on this but none really answer my question. I am building a new Roadsport with standard brakes. I have bled each wheel in the correct sequence three times now and I am not seeing any more air bubbles at all. But, the pedal is still reaching the floor (to coin a phrase!) so there must be some trapped air somewhere. There are no leaks so far as I can see. Anyone advise on the magic solution to this or do I keep going around until I get dizzy and fall over? See some photo's here It's arrived - build in progress
  7. Mine used to do this - caused by water in the fuel. Either old fuel with condensation in it, or the mower could have been left in the rain. Worth draining completely and filling with fresh fuel if you haven't already tried it.
