  1. First dibs please (as we used to say...)! YHM
  2. Many thanks both. You're right - I should give them a ring. They were very helpful last time I had a problem...
  3. Thanks - yep, it doesn't work, I'm afraid, even taking all that into account. Much appreciate your efforts to help, though.. I'll now try the chipanzee/typewriter/Shakespeare method and see if I can a result that way instead!
  4. Thanks -yes- although as mentioned I have 5 buttons, I have tried pushing 1 and 3 (or 0 and 2 etc) and every other combination I can. I seem able to adjust anything and everything - except kph back to mph....
  5. By mistake I somehow seem to have changed the 'mph' default to 'kph' on my digital Stack dash, and despite trying every combination of button pressing I can think of, I don't seem able to change it back.. I've looked at the manual and followed its instructions as best I can but nothing seems to fix it. This is not helped by the fact that all the instructions refer to the 'four' buttons used for altering the settings, but I have five... Can anyone quickly tell me, step by step, how to change kph back to mph? Apologies and thanks.
  6. Hi James and Dave Am I right that we can't make bookings yet for the L7Club session at the 27 March Silverstone track day? The other two 20 min per hour sessions that day are already bookable (MG Car Club are charging £189 for their session; Lotus-on-Track are charging £180 for theirs) so I assume ours will be similarly priced? Any reason why we can't also book ours now? Looking forward to it - and thanks again for setting up such a great track day calendar for 2017. Stephen
  7. Thanks yes good reminder - looks as though a new setof Revioution 4-spoke would be nearer £500 after the discount. Still above budget, though, on this occasion...

  9. Thanks for that. Yes, they'd be perfect - but yes over budget I'm afraid. Asking £600 for set of used anthracites, even repainted ones, is quite ambitious, no?
  10. PS and if you get the medium (rather than soft) compound ZZR, they'll last for ages, even with track use. There's not much tread to wear out anyway...
  11. Ken I think you actually have ZZSs, which are the well-treaded tyre that has superseded the old CR500. Meanwhile ZZRs have very little tread and are the closest you can get to a road-legal slick - excellent on track, and in my view perfectly good for all road use except extreme wet conditions, (Although I have also used them in extreme wet conditions and they seemed fine to me)
  12. Mrs L7FST erroneously thinks a man can have too many sets of wheels, so I'd like to bring my next set in cheaply and under the radar They are for trackday use - not polishing - so cosmetic appearance not important. Anything considered, provided they're 108PCD and have Caterham-friendly offsets. Thanks - Stephen
  13. Thanks James. That all sounds excellent, with some good measures to encourage newcomers (which is essential), and plenty to keep the regulars happy too (also essential!). Two quick points, if I may. First, it would help to be a little more specific about the plan you mention for the Club-exclusive days to move (provisionally) from sessions to open pitlane. If a day is being offered at a relatively high OPL price (as the Club-exclusive days tend to be), then a decent amount of OPL tracktime should really be guaranteed. If a sessions structure was extended much beyond, say, mid-morning, tracktime value for money would be notably compromised. Most of the regulars I know tend to prefer OPL days, and make bookings for sessioned days only when there's no alternative (eg Brands GP) or when they're significantly less expensive (e.g. sessioned days at Cadwell, which can be had as cheaply as chips). Second, on dates, I for one would appreciate it if dates for the proposed events could be released as and when they are confirmed (rather than waiting until they have all been confirmed). My 2017 calendar (for work as well as play) is booking up fast and I want to get any Club trackdays firmly in there asap... All thanks again to you and the team for putting track days firmly back on the Club map! Stephen
  14. Thanks Tom - that sounds a great scene there... I'm very envious! I think my record number of track days in a single year is ten.. I have a daughter currently at NYU so I may find an excuse to come to the East Coast before too long, in which case I'd love to meet. Meanwhile in couple of weeks I'm making a quick trip to Los Angeles, where my wife is on a 3 month assignment, and whilst there I'm hoping to make contact with at least one of the famed California Sevens.. The American track days I read about seem very glamorous, with lots of exotic machinery involved. Over here most of them (and of course I don't mean the Club ones, which are excellent) have a high proportion of boy racers in hot, or not very hot, hatchbacks. This can be a bit dispiriting. Next weekend I'm at Donington, which is a great cricuit, and I think I'll have the company of at least three other Caterhams. That will probably be my last of the year. thanks again and good luck with the cooling issues! Stephen
  15. Hello Tom Fascinating - thank you! I also have a 2.3 Duratec, and though I reckon myself to be a bit of a track day addict, I'm completely in awe of you completing '15 or so' trackdays in the last 3 months, with 6 or so more due before mid November! Which tracks? With other Caterhams? What format and cost? Do you have a day job, or is this it? Respect! Would love to know more about the US trackdays scene... Stephen
  16. Just spotted by my daughter Faith. Spare wheel on back, stripe on front...
  17. Good news - & fingers crossed for the morning!
  18. The Meteor screen is excellent - easy to fit and looks good - highly recommended
  19. Hi Tom & sorry I didn't spot you. I'd sneaked off work a bit early so I could go for a blat before dark...Autumn is getting serious now so it will be back to weekend blats only soon. Hope to see you one Sunday before long

    Door mirrors

Another vote for Motamec F2. Their basic design is identical to SPA, but they don't work loose because they incorporate an extra grub screw (see pic) to tighten when correctly adjusted. Amazingly they are half the price too.....and very well made

    Donington

Now I know this area of BC is really for Club trackdays, not any old trackdays, but I've just booked on to the Javelin open pitlane day on Sat 22 October and I wanted to encourage a few other Caterhams to come along as well.... Please do! Meanwhile, so I don't have to start up a controversial thread over Christmas, like last year, can I ask our excellent TD coordinators that thought is given soon to securing some key Club dates for next year? Can I put in a request for Cadwell (as always), Brands GP, Donington and Oulton Park at minimum please? And maybe Snetterton? thanks
