  1. My wheel has slight vibration and needs a new QR boss as worn over the years. It is SPA design with 3 holes on 45mm centers. I guess quite standard. Any recommendations where to get a replacement?
  2. Anti roll bar front - RED bung - Standard S3 chassis
  3. Yes the Fog connections and copper strips all look OK. I checked that our too.
  4. Thank you for the quick response. Makes sense there is a possible connection. Issue was there before the new switches. Connections all look OK. Will look into 12V and earths. Cheers.
  5. Two light issues. Related? Fog light not working. Was intermittent on when switch was off. Now not working at all. Fuse and bulb checked. New switch fitted. No visible wire problem. Toggle switches worn out for indicators and main / dip beam replaced with new. Lights work for side and main but no dip beam. Fuse, bulbs checked. Worn switch replaced. Still not working. Tried swapping the three relays on Fuse box around to check if not OK. No change. Any ideas? Anything else to check or test?
  6. Update. The problem is fixed. Turned out to be HT lead routed across the wiring loom where the gearbox sensor connector branch off. Sensor removed, cleaned and the cable shielding and tape improved. HT re routed away from loom. Issue resolved. Apparently the subtle sensor signals are disrupted by the HT "field". Thanks for the support.
  7. Thanks Revilla his kind of sound like it but often when I touched throttle it recovered. Only some timed cutting out. I will look into & let you know.....
  8. Have an issue. 1400 Supersport on standard Rover ECU. When running the relay situated underneath the ECU clicks and the revs fall from 1000 to 800 then up to 1600. Occurs frequently with normal revs inbetween. After a few clicks the rev change cause cut out. Have done the following step by step. Each time the issue reoccurred. so tried the next step. - Swapped relay for new one - Replaced original relay - Swapped ECU for my spare (same Rover type for 1400 SS). - New Battery Neutral Earth Lead. Old ones ends not looking good. - Lambda sensor loose in exhaust. Tightened up. - Lambda sensor connector not seated in full. push together. - All spark plus removed & checked. Checked all other sensors / connectors looked OK (even if not sure what all do!) Still going it! . Any Ideas welcomed. Thanks.

  10. Hi Stephen I would like one too please Steve
  11. New & unused windscreen for sale. Polished frame. Heated. Price £offers? Location Ledbury, herefordshire. Can arrange delivery via Parcelforce. I travel for business so can even look at possible dropping off if feasible. Note: it costs £495+ del from Caterham. Rgds, Steve
  12. Elie, do not think I have a Lambda sensor? Would this would be in the exhaust after 4 into one pipe? Steve
  13. John Emissions looking +ve! Will talk to garage. Did not think you meant the Plug Cover... thought you meant No Cam cover! Have now understood your comment. Cam cover in place as it always has been... must be photo angle? On google images I have seen a pipe connected on another 1400SS that goes forward under the nose cone?....
  14. I still think a diagnostics check of my ECU would not hurt. Where does the garage interface with the unit? Steve
  15. No cover over spark plugs - is this what you mean? Steve
  16. Thank you John - sounds promising! Car is L reg plate so this should help the age related points the regs make too? Steve
  17. Side Issue: The mechanic spotted a short hose from block side of the SS Plenum chamber casting. It is an open tube. He thought this strange a tried with it plugged. Idle fails. I have never noticed this before. Is it correct to be there? I'm not sure from that description but is that the hose to the charcoal canister? My canister is on the RHS of the engine bay just behind the washer bottle. See Figure 14.5 in the Assembly Guide (or at least some versions of it). The LH (rear) tube goes to the fuel trap on bulkhead. The RH (front) tube is 20mm long & open - is this OK?
  18. Can you add a photo of your ECU so that someone can identify it?
  19. Thanks for fast responses. - Hot yes but previous years MOT February / cold & yesterday warmed up more than before so this may help but there must be a route cause. - Car built by CC as Autosport 68 used by the magazine. Raced til 1999 with various race related rebuilds. Full chassis rebuild as road car 1999. - VIN plate was checked yesterday & characters fitted MOT Database 1400 Rover that came up. 6th = K 10th = Q full string is SDKRDKRRJQ+numbers. - Have wiring diagram thanks. But where physically is ECU interface plug & what shape / no of pins am I looking for? Thanks Steve
  20. 1994 1400 SS with no CAT. MOT conducted by same sympathetic garage since 2007. In 2015 started doing in Emissions check. Passed two years in row. Failed yesterday CO 0.49 vs 0.35 when warmed up. HC high at 2338 vs 1200 but the garage expects these to come in to pass if CO sorted. Correct? Garage suggested ECU connection and adjustment of set up. Where is the connection plug to do this? Is this the way to go? Is there anything special for 1400SS Caterham or will the garage with no prior experience with one be OK to adjust? Do they need specific instructions / setting info? But what has changed since last year? The clutch has been changed by experience mechanic. Reading some Blat Chat posts is an air leak from exhaust most likely issue? Anything else that could have been affected? Side Issue: The mechanic spotted a short hose from block side of the SS Plenum chamber casting. It is an open tube. He thought this strange a tried with it plugged. Idle fails. I have never noticed this before. Is it correct to be there? Lots of questions above - what I need is to draw up a list of possible causes & to eliminate 1 by one. All suggestions appreciated - as always. Steve
  21. Some interweb & a run around the 'test track' (bypass) Plenum tube - OK the plunger thingy - turns out to be on top of the Stepper Motor under the throttle so does move & was stuck! Thanks for all the fast assistance as always!
