    Maybe this will help: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Product.do?method=view&n=1790&g=778085&p=780000&c=215&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Base&utm_campaign=Competition%20Tyres&gclid=CLGx69qLksQCFTHLtAodWkYAOg

Apparently the new Toyo R888R is well worth considering when it becomes available. I'm going to buy another set of CR500's in the meantime to see me through this year and then look at either the new Toyo or ZZS next season.

Thanks for that. Good idea - I'll try and find somebody with a set close 'ish to me.

    Tyre Options

Anybody..... "I use CR500's on my R300 and like them. However, it makes sense to me to go for the latest tyre technology hence considering ZZS's next time. My concern is my current tyre sizes are 175/55 x 13 and 205/55 x 13 whereas the ZZS only comes in 185/55 x 13 and 215/55 x 13. Will the slightly increased width cause any rubbing or other problems?"

  6. No; they don't self level. They are simply a Bi-Xenon kit retro fitted inside a Cibie lens. As I said, you just have to be careful where you set the height/beam. There is a fine line between them being too low to see and too high to avoid being flashed. If you excuse the pun, the difference between the standard Caterham headlights and mine as they are now is like night and day !!!
  7. I have fitted a Bi-Xenon kit to my R300 (from HIDS4U) and replaced the lenses with Cibie's plus fitted the newer style lowered mounting brackets and the lights are excellent now. No problems with the MOT, but you do have to set the beam angle carefully as oncoming traffic flash very occasionally but I think that is because the Xenons are uBer bright.

    Hub nut size?

Thank you everybody for your help, advice & input. I managed to borrow locally a 41mm socket. Damn; 200 lbft is tight to undo !!!

    Hub nut size?

I've got a 2002 R300 Superlight with a De Dion axle and Ford diff and I'm replacing the rear pads/discs tonight. I know the torque setting on the large hub nut is 270nm but can anyone tell me what the nut size is please so I can get the correct socket to fit it. Somebody suggested it 'might' be 42mm? Cheers, Si
  10. We're about to replace the orange rubber anti roll bar bushes and can't work out how to get them into position. Do you simply remove the ARB and slide them along over the end having disconnected the watts linkage?
  11. The Quantum QRS 1 Zero look particularly appealing to me especially with the Digressive upgrade.
  12. I've got a 2002 R300k Superlight S3 and am thinking about replacing/upgrading the Bilsteins that are on there. I have had it professionally set up & corner weighted by Center Gravity and it seems to handle very well, but I suspect they are the original shocks and getting quite tired. I was wondering what you would recommend? I was going to speak to Simon at Meteor and look at their options. I'm not looking to go mad price-wise but do want to get the best balance in terms of performance versus price. Thanks.
  13. I have an R300K which I track a fair bit (10/12 times a year) and wondered what the optimum oil temp is on the road and also, more importantly, on track days?
