  1. Here's the text of my Pistonheads advert. Had a couple of interested parties, but no takers so far. Caterham 1.6 K series Roadsport.. My first Caterham bought 4 years ago. The car has been regularly maintained and MoT'd with no advisories. It has covered less than 15,00 mainly dry miles since new. Mot. certificates back to 2006.It has been an ideal intro to 7 ownership. De dion Red and Ally with flared arches. 5 Speed Cloth seats.. Momo Q/R steering wheel. Full weather equipement. Toyo T1R tyres. Auxillary 12volt power point. High level brake light. New cambelt at 11,000 miles New alloy throttle body Priced to sell and is the least expensive K Series advertised on Pistonheads. Selling to finance my next Caterham
  2. Yellow 51 plate ( I think) on the A59 heading into town.
  3. I will try again to make this post, hopefully it won't be mangled. I've owned the car for 4 years. It was my first 7 and I've found it to be ideal as a intro to Caterhams. It has been regularly maintained and hasn't had an advisory when MoT'd If anyone knows of a person looking for their 1st 7 I can be contacted on here, by email or phone. Here's a photo Thanks Stewart
  4. I am looking to change my 7. I would like a later Sigma engined car. First I would like to sell my 1997 K series 1600 Roadsport. Red and ally with flared arches. 15,000 miles Caterham cloth seats and Momo q/r steering wheel. 15 inch wheels with Toyo R1R tyres. Full weather equipement. Further details and photos to follow. £11,750.
  5. Thanks Jonathan, I just thought it was weird. Stewart
  6. I'm logged in. I'm browsing in the Wanted section. Most items I can see, but one, "K series engine oil", won't allow me to see the page and displays the Access Denied page. Stewart
  7. There's a SLR on EBay, starting bids 20K. It's in Stamford
  8. I take exception to someone calling me a peasant. Why can't the decision be accepted without a spurious argument about their road car being safe?
  9. Jonathan, my friend just queried that he thought it was better if everyone could see the answer to technical question. As I understand it, as a non member he can't post questions and answers. He thinks the forum is a great source of knowledge. I understand that it's up to the person replying how they answer and they may, like you have a valid reason. He also has an Elise and uses the SELOC forum and hadn't noticed the same trend. It wasn't a criticism, just an observation. Stewart
  10. GJT, yes I agree he should join, but no amount of arm twisting seems to work. Yes I understand that it's the members prerogative to decide how they post a reply. I just thought I'd flag it up for the benefit of other members. Stewart
  11. Slight different, but on the same theme, A Caterham owner, none member friend of mine mentioned that he's seen a trend of members sending a private mail in answer to technical queries. I haven't really noticed this, but I'll take his word for it. It seems to defeat the object of Tech Talk.
  12. There's one Ebay bid starting at £50 + p and p
  13. Some time ago I spoke to a Caterham racer who also was a 7 dealer. He said he wouldn't consider driving a 7 on he road without a full cage and side impact bar. SWMBO would insist I had the same, It just goes to show the differences of peoples opinions. Who's to say he wasn't right or just over cautious.
  14. I'm pretty tall, so to lift my SBFS half hood a bit further away from my bonce I have a section of roll bar foam in my boot. I pop it on the roll bar and it does the trick. Stewart
  15. Thanks everyone. Done a bit more research and although the manual says use a new bolt the general consensus is to put a bit of loctite on the old one.
  16. I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear. I've removed the retaining bolt and the old rotor arm. I've fitted a new rotor arm. The Haynes manual say after replacing the rotor arm a new retaining bolt should be fitted. Is this strictly necessary as it isn't mention on any forums.
  17. I'm replacing the rotor arm on my 1997 K series Roadsport. The Haynes manual says after fitting the new rotor arm fit a new bolt. There is no mention of this on any other forums. There is a blue substance on the threads of the old bolt. I presume it is Loctite .
  18. Re. Richtimms and Aeroscreens comments. Would I be right to think the metric rollover bar fits the Imperial chassis? Is it made from a larger size tube than the thin early bars? Also is it's profile the same i.e. the height and angle of the upright? If so it would seem reasonable upgrade over an early bar for road use.
  19. About 2pm Saturday 23rd July. The Inn is on the road north of Buckden, North Yorkshire
