  1. I hadn't thought about double thickness or the right angled plastic, but TBH I've never tested it in the rain. Every day's a school day.
  2. . Alan, here's a photo. The top wire is tie wrapped to the roll bar and then follows the contours of the roll bar on each side. This wire and the horizontal wire have hooks, which connect together and the are tie wrapped to the bottom of the roll bar.
  3. I used some fabric fly screen, an off cut bought from a local fabric shop. The frame is black curtain wire (Ebay) attached to the roll bar with black tie wraps and fixed onto the bottom wire with curtain hooks. I placed the fabric over the wire and sewed it by hand over the wire frame.
  4. I had a S3 with a SBFS draught reducer. Given that I'm 6'2" and sat a far back as possible I found the wind whistled into my right lughole. I now have an SV and can sit further forward which helps the wind coming around the door. I made my own draught reducer which covers all of the roll bar. More effective than the SBFS one and cost about a tenner.
  5. I needed a new Banner battery on Thursday. At 15.00hrs I ordered one from Tayna. It arrived at 14.00 hrs on Friday.
  6. Gavin, I'm not sure about the powder coating, but try Track V Road in Clitheroe for fitting. Stewart
  7. All of a sudden, for no reason the blue update icon refuses to cancel when a thread is viewed. Then sometimes it does work. Stewart
  8. Red Cross flow, L7GXG.
  9. Would someone please buy the battery and put and end to the pun fest. Lol. Stewart
  10. Now sorted, not by me I must add. One of the earths had failed within the insulation under a tie wrap. Discovered with a heat sensing camera. Repaired and now working. Thanks for the comments. Stewart
  11. Further to my post #8 I've took photos of the components. Could anyone view them and give me their opinion. These above are the switch with 4 pins and 2 spades This is the connector block with two spades and 2 of the 5 connectors having inserts. This is the rear of the connector block. One green and purple into one connector and 3 black into the other. Is that right? BTW The hazard relay has only 3 pins. Caterham website have it with 3 or 5 and Redline only have a 5 pin hazard relay TIA Stewart
  12. Thanks, I'll just keep plugging away. Stewart
  13. Removed the relay and hazard switch and cleaned all the contacts. Hey presto, nearside hazards work, not offside. Repeated the process. Offside now work, but not nearside. Bloody electrics.....
  14. Thanks, I'll try a new flasher relay for starters. S
  15. Thanks John, that will take some digesting. S
  16. I have tried that in the past on a different 7 and it sorted the hazards and indicators not working. This seems different as the indicators are working, but not the hazards. S
  17. I was doing a check of my lights and found all working, except offside cycle wing repeater. The bulb OK. When I try to press the hazard light switch the lights don't work and the relay buzzes. Any ideas, is it just the relay is knackered? TIA Stewart
  18. I did a similar one but instead of aluminum tube I used black curtain wire. I secured it using tie wraps and I stitched the black insect screen to it..S
  19. Thanks Stu, those are the ones I used. I'm not sure if there is an advantage. It's the way I chose. I bonded the bigheads below the wing stay. I drilled small holes in the flaps and married them to the bigheads. I did put Sikaflex on the flaps as well and the large stainless washers and a lock nut. I guess it was a belt and braces approach. One thing worth mentioning is not to be tempted to have them too long. I was told that someone did and when they reversed the flap went under them wheel ripping the wing off. S
  20. Tom, my wings are bonded. I bonded two bigheads onto the wings and fixed the mudflaps on those. So far, so good. S
  21. I have for sale a new heated screen with polished frame. £492 from Caterham. I'd like £295. I will the going to the Graham Nearn Memorial and can deliver it there.
