My TF comments have nothing to do with YT videos- just based on visiting the place, either in the 7, or calling in on "ahem" business trips :) Back to my first trip when my mate and I were rather shocked to see a Land Rover Discovery complete with roof top kayak, head out down the latter part of the Dotinger Hohe straight. The attendant marshals having given said kayak a cursory 'wiggle' to check all was secure :) "On yer go son" ..or the German equivalent:) Rog

I can still remember my first trip to the Ring in my first Crossflow engined 7, almost 20 years ago. As I headed out under the barrier with an equally terrified mate in the passenger seat, the fog had lifted but the drizzle remained..... On the second lap it absolutely siled it down. My job was to look forwards, backwards through the centre mirror and driver's 'door' mirror- my mate kept his eyes glued rearwards through the passenger door mirror. After what seemed like an eternity, we returned to the paddock area and took cover in the coffee shop. After about 5 mins of stunned silence, my mate turned to me and said "what the f£&k did we just do?" :) I have subsequently returned in more powerful 7s, but I now more concerned with just how popular the Touristfahrten have become. I now reckon I'd prefer to revisit on a proper Trackday, albeit at a much higher cost. If you do want to do the Touristfahrten days then pick an evening early in the week, well away from public holiday weekends. Rog

That was me And in my experience, using my spine's ability to tolerate our awful B road surfaces, I switched back from what I considered to be overdamped NTR1s to new Bilsteins and Eibachs, correctly set up by a good friend of mine. This for a pure road use car only. In the cold light of day, I'm not sure why I felt that I needed 22 stops of adjustment, given that i am not a driving god. All my backside and spine communicated was "kin ell that hurt" as I caught an in inconveniently placed manhole cover. I consulted the "good friend of mine" prior to purchasing the NTR1s, who advised it probably wasn't the best use of my money. He was right. Thankfully I was able to sell on the NTR1s to a new owner whom I believe is very happy with the set up, albeit not on a 7. My conclusion from all this. I had overthought the matter and got a bit carried away. In practical every day terms, I do not believe I benefited from a good bang for the buck ratio. Just my two bobs worth. Hi Martin, Know the Peak District very well. Often do early Sunday runs before breakfast. There's a great resource under Blats/Tours on which some excellent routes have been saved. Just need to remember that the PD is surrounded by large conurbations on all sides so most of the major more interesting roads do get busy quite quickly. I've done my bit for club funds by donating £185.00, spending 10 mins sat in the pit lane awaiting sighting laps, then 6 hours trying to fathom out an infuriating electrical problem. FAIL - despite most welcome help from various friends on site only track time was an excellent session as a passenger with Rob Grigsby in his 250hp Duratec - witnessing some wonderful car control. first track fail for the Blackbird but great to catch up with folks Rog

The PRRT was developed for the LR Freelander soon after it's launch. The K series installation in the Freelander was clearly different from its' original intended purpose and they suffered from horrendous air locks etc. Hence the island-4x4 link. The Rimmer Bros website also has a cheaper aftermarket alternative. As someone who used to source these parts for Xpart, with the time now passed, the choice of premium vs next supplier will be negligible I used Samco hoses and just bought one long length and carefully cut to length as needed - straightforward. @Adam- a PEL000040A is duly reserved. They only cost me a £ or two each so please make a charitable donation and I'll cover postage Rog

Hi Brian, I purchased-"Thermostat Housing - PEL500110 - Genuine" from Rimmer Bros. I also bought a length of black silicon hose and cut to suit as I went along. I'll look for the original t/stat bypass and send it to you...a couple of shots my installation. I have a dry sump so less to avoid up front.

Yep, same as T7. I used to work for the company that owned the former Rover parts business, so I took out the old thermostat and fitted the replacement through flow item. I’ve got a bag of about ten if you’d like me to send you one. Rog
