  1. Think automotive will supply one no problem, just give them the spec.
  2. Yep, I think they are having a laugh the fellow is an officious little twerp (IMHO). But I need to get it passed in the next 14 days so I have to do what the 'twerp' wants....
  3. It needs to be the rear as the SVA station can't test the front.. Chris b - What have you done? is it a bike computer job?
  4. Has anyone had any sucess with a bike computer fixed to the rear wheel? Having problems with my local SVA test centre and this might be the solution! Thanks, Rob
  5. The plastic screws are a bit lighter, but unless you are down to saving grams here and there nobody buys them for saving weight. Most folk who are 7 owners (myself included of course)could probably lose twice the amount by missing out on the second pie at lunch
  6. Do you really want to get it working? You will be never free of work....
  7. I also have one of these quaife boxes and am also perplexed at the fact that: a, they design a box that spits oil when running and then b, the manufactures want me to pay £30 for a better breather because of a known defect. Isn't there something legal that says a supplied product should be fit for purpose

    Dedion ears

1 side of the ears are flat and the other has been machined to give a camber angle. if you measure the width of the ears at the top and then at the bottom you should be able to calculate the angle through pythagorus (spelling?).
  9. The missus wants this car, but has advised that my car will have to be evicted from the garage. Any garages on e-bay for sale?
  10. I heard the gauges are sensitive to vibration and some people remote mount them because of this. You might want to test the gauge resistivity prior to doing anything major.
  11. Is it set up for 8 or 4 targets? As the bolt head on the hub is ussually picked up twice so the circumference needs to be halved on a 4 targets. Could well be caused by a loose braket or even loose connection, the system is pretty staright-forward: Stack Dash - Connection - Cable with proximter attached - proximeter is in a bracket that is in line with the hub cap head screws. Manual for the dash is on the internet through STACK (the button numbers are not in the same order as on a Caterham) Good Luck!
  12. Can these be fitted to a rear wheel?
  13. Manxseven - I can't wait. Are them bike computers cheap then, all I want is to get it through the test.
  14. Unfortunately not, all my mates think I am a bit weird putting a motorbike engine in a car I built myself. The Westfield chaps have advised I take the fuel pressure down to about 13 PSI. Will take it to a freindly garage next week to get it tested. No solutions on the stack wheel speed calibration or proof of engine age yet though....
  15. Anyone else got any suggestions on what I could do?
  16. Might be worth a go if the nearest wasn't 200 miles away unfortunately Reminds me again of why I live in Aberdeen!
  17. Yep, pretty expensive for a letter - £70? When I spoke to Suzuki, they denied all knowledge of being able to get the age from the serial number, but why stick a fecking serial number on an engine if they cannot trace where it went? I think they just can't be ars*d, which is nice. Spoke to Caterham about the speedo calibration check and they told me all the other SVA can check it. The SVA inspector denied this was true - so this looks like another dead end. I really feel it is like a wee game for the SVA, they know full well that I will be making it non-SVA compliant as soon as I get the certification. They have different emmision rules for motorbikes than they do cars with motorbike engines - Are they short of common sense I wonder! Not Happy ☹️
  18. Graham W - When adjusting the levels on the power commander do you just concentrate on the 1500 / 3000 rpm levels or do you need to look at the fuelling level around those points? What did you take it down to? -20 ish Hopefully... I'll get an answer off Caterham today on the speedo, but we'll see
  19. Glad to hear that it is possible to get the CO levels down, I thought that may be impossible nearly.
  20. Have you got a price estimate you are after?
  21. 1999 according to z-cars, tested to the following: (Other with CAT) At 2.5K to 3K rpm CO less than or equal to 0.3% HC less than or equal to 200 ppm Lambda Probe - less than or equal to 0.97 - 1.03 At idle (0.45 to 1.5K rpm) CO less than or equal to 0.5% I
  22. Failed Unfortunately: 1. Emissions 2. Noise - by 2 db 3. Couldn't test the speedometer - it is fitted to the front wheel (the stack sensor is) 4. Couldn't ratify the age of the engine even though the supplier had put it on his invoice (needs a suzuki letter, suzuki say they cannot tell the age from the engine serial number) 5. Cooling pipe to close to the steering column - no biggie I hope Anybody got any experience with this that may help? Especially concerned about items 1, 2 and 4 Thanks in advance - as always Rob
  23. ermm feel a bit thick now Oh well, you learn something new eh?
  24. Spoke to Richard at TTS, got the same answer - it is a DRY sump. DSL - does you indicator show nothing? Just a bit worried the engine is not getting enough oil - they aren't cheap!! All the best, Rob
