  1. Hi, I'm looking at getting a pair of the Willans 'Silverstone LDT6 Caterham' harnesses. On the Willans website they show them as having the regular mounting plates which have a hole through which to pass the fixing bolt. However on Demon Tweeks tho the mountings are shown and listed as being the hook and eye-bolt type Do people who use the willans 6-pointers swap over to use hook and eye style harnesses? or can you buy the harnesses from somewhere with the regular plate style fixing? Thanks Rob
  2. I've taken the hint and bought regular steel ones.
  3. So is the fear hear related to the thermal expansion of ali/alloy as opposed to steel? ie it is feared this could cause the nuts to loosen?
  4. Another BIG thumbs up for Dave at Premier Paint Guard. Dave drove down to west london yesterday eve from the Midlands to install the film on my freshly re-painted superlight. Rather than go for the standard protection kit for a caterham I opted to have both side skins *entirely* covered end-to-end top-to-bottom. He made a perfect job of what I though would be a challenging install Cheers Rob
  5. Hi, what are you alluding to there Roger? Is that a suggestion that good quality alloy wheel nuts have a habbit of comming loose? Edited by - bobt on 16 Jun 2011 10:02:01
  6. Hi, looking to get some black alloy wheel nuts for my 2000 dedion S3. Can somebody tell me the tread size? I have Rial wheels which have a tapered seat for the nut. Is the angle of these seats pretty standard? Thanks Rob
  7. I striped my carbon nosecone using nitromors. Worked a treat and doesn't harm the epoxy. I then rubbed back, applied a coat of epoxy and polished it up. Looks like new now :-)
  8. Hmmm he doesn't do 185s...
  9. Not even DT can supply any, and have no delivery dates. Being blamed on the Japan earth quake. I would normally run 185x60x13 soft front and 205x60x13 medium rear. Would A048s be comparable? Cheers Rob
  10. TSK painted my cage for 100quid but he was also spraying the rest of the car so its probably discounted. When I ordered the cage I asked for it to be powdercoated white. This then only had to be keyed before being sprayed. cheers Rob

    Roll cage padding

Yikes!! That would protect the bar but not my head. I think I'll go with gaffa tape to get the colour I want. Rob

    Roll cage padding

Hi, Yes I'm after the FIA stuff not the pipe lagging. Thanks for the link I'll try and find out more about it. Cheers Rob
  13. hi, I know this has been spoken about before and I know where to buy it. My question is are there covers for the padding available? I've a white Caged SLR full cage and would like white padding to match as they only seem to be black. Also I forgot to measure the bar diameter this morning so if you know what it is that will be helpful too Cheers Rob
  14. I think you'd struggle what with it being a side mounted seat. With the lowered floors the flat area on which to mount the seats is narrower. Its a tight fit with the b1 in an S3. Rob (Fitting b1s into a lowered floor S3 right now )

    Wheels and tyres

Hi, I've got both MB and Rial in 13" and much prefer the Rials. Although they have a very slight weight penalty (and it is minimal) over MBs, IMO they are in a different world with regards to quality and much more durable. Cheers Rob

    Lowered floors

Hmmm I still can't picture what you mean in relation to the seat runners Rob

    Lowered floors

Hi, Did any of you chaps that have fitted lowered floors bother with the spreader plates? Don't the runners the seat is mounted on do that job already? Cheers Rob

    5 3/4 Headlights

Hi peebs, Looking to swap to 5 3/4 headlights. Whats the consensus on the S-V-C carbon effect headlights here Tacky or good as opposed to the regular units http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/product/5-3-4--free-standing-black/ Anybody seen the 'effect' ones in the flesh? Cheers Rob

    Diff oil for LSD

Hi, I need to top up the diff oil and the casting has AP ST 3.6 written on it which I assume is AP SureTrack. Anybody know what the recommended oil is? Thanks
  23. Hi, Other than caterham, is there somewhere else these can be purchased from? Part I do usually support Caterham in buying all my parts direct from them but 40+ quid once the p+p is added for two bits of rubber is a bit pricey... Cheers Rob
