  1. I think I know where it is and can make sure it gets to Harewood . I'm only there on Sunday so let me know if it's needed more urgently and I can probably get it there on Saturday
  2. It's lovely to see that the old girl is being treated well and is looking well. Thanks for that I think the gardens are fabulous. and i know what you mean about the palace but it really is very very impressive ; its having to join the back of a thousand people queue, and then when you do get inside it really was too busy/crowded (or it was on yesterday) for my liking. Very happy to have done it though and would recommend it to anyone. . . but maybe not on a public holiday weekend (Bastille Day today)
  3. I was just walking up to the Palace of Versailles this morning and a lovely Seven came up the hill and crossed just in front of us walking into the palace side gate. Even my wife recognised the sound before it got to us. R400 DUO was the car Our Superlight was parked back at the hotel in the town. The 2 hour wait to get into the palace was long but just about worth it. Did you join the queue DUO? Rob
  4. Personally I will be happy to stick with the MSA regs with regard to the runs being offered provided the "runs offered" count for all entrants at the event. In the past I believethe L7C has used more runs than were offered to count to the whole field ie we were allowed to continue with runs until we got bored and we allowed the "unofficial" runs to count to our championship. Its this bit I think detracts from the competition. If the LMC decides it will use only say four timed runs to count, then a large proportion of the 100 or so non-L7 competitors will pack up and go home after their fourth competition run. If L7C decides to allow further runs to count, the gap between runs is likely to be much reduced, tyres will generally be running warmer and grippier, times will reduce, and the first four competition runs (with cooler tyres due to the longer gap between runs allowing the tyres to cool fully) will effectively be an extra four practice runs. And that isn't good for a good competition. Rob
  5. Aintree has always been very good value in terms of the number of runs we get, if not the number of corners we get to go round . I think the LDMC limit the number of runs to count to a maximum of four for the rest of the field, which means most of the other (non L7) competitors pack up after four runs leaving lots of time for some extra runs for those that want them. I suggest we should declare the maximum number of runs to count to the L7C championship before we start; we have in the past had to decide where to draw the line when competitors may well have vested interests in extending or limiting the number of runs depending on their standing at the time. I suggest we limit the number of competition runs to four, or the same number allowed/ announced by the LDMC for the event. Views? Rob
  6. I'd just like to thank all those who helped me out after my little excursion into the straw bales at Karousel on Saturday. The damage to the steering wasn't bad but without me having to do very much at all, Alan recovered my car from the top of the hill, a spare track rod end was donated by Richard, and it was fitted by Jeremy and Alan in the padock. Roger Moran lent me his tracking gauge to reset the tracking (with Jeremy driving the gauge) and the car drove just as it did before it (albeit a little slower into Karousel) on Sunday There was help and advice from a number of other competitors too so thank you to you all for your help. *thumbup* *thumbup* Rob
  7. A friend is looking for a high level tyre rack to fit his Brian James Clubman trailer. The width between the inside faces of the fixing flanges needs to be 1.95m Rob
  8. Matt I have to come to see how my 1.6K ported supersport compares against the Team Willoughby car. I need an excuse. Rob
  9. We just need Jon Ward to come and join the fun now . . . and we can all have someone to look at in our rear view mirror 😳 😳 Only joking Jon 😬. You coming?
  10. Graham I want to be really annoyed that you could say such a thing *mad*. . . but i know you're right I think I might let his tyres down first. Pesky youngsters!! Why don't they show a bit of respect for age and just slow down a bit.
  11. Matt I would love to join you. After all the glowing reports from the sprint (I was away on holiday) I can't wait to give it a go. I think I'll follow you for a few laps 😬 Rob
  12. It happened to me the first time I took the numbers off my "new" 2002 blue car three years ago 🙆🏻. I've not had the bonnet repainted yet, I just covered it over with the white "Caterham Motorsport" race number squares. I'll have to get it repainted sometime I suppose. But it's odd that in four seasons prior to that, removing numbers from my old (also 2002) Caterham Yellow car never caused any paint damage. I put it down to a stronger adhesive on the white numbers I used on the blue car.
  13. Ok Graham. We'll see you in the morning.
  14. I'm sorry to hear that Steve ☹️. I hope you manage to get it sorted out without too much difficulty. You don't owe me anything but thanks for the offer. You will of course be missing some lovely weather at Anglesey over the weekend, although Sunday afternoon seems to be getting wetter each time I look ☹️. See you next year. Joe, you can have Steve's place in the garage, no problem. And that still leaves an available space. *wavey*Graham, Jeremy, interested? Rob
  15. The garages are quite big. The Secretary suggests two single seaters or four "other" cars will fit. But as Chris has said, seven 7s is probably tops to allow for getting in and out on one side only. So yes David, there's room for you . There is also room for one more without it being too cosy . Let me know Unfortunately they won't let me have the key until Saturday morning so we can't store the cars on Friday night.
  16. Ok. I've confirmed the booking - you're all in. I'll let you all know some more details when Margaret gets back to me.
  17. I've provisionally booked a garage for Saturday and Sunday so would anyone not in Chris's garage care to share. I think it's about £100 so if there are at least three others willing to share, I'll confirm it. Unless anyone else has spare room in their garage I could share Rob
  18. So who's the slim new Team Bowlersport #1 driver then Alan? I can understand the need for the change though; the last one was quite a way off young Willoughby's time at Curb1 😬
  19. I must say I was a bit taken aback when you said it was your last weekend in the championship - and a bit saddened I don't mind telling you ☹️ All the best in your retirement. I'm sure you'd be allowed back if you change your mind. Rob
  20. Have a BTTT on me Philip. It looks like a really nice car
  21. Well I had a thouroughly enjoyable day. A big thank you to Graham for organising it, and the weather was just, well, unexpected And it was very intersting to experience just what well sorted machines you guys (Graham, Alan and Jon) are driving. They were all different but still all very good. Thank you all for your glowing praise of my cars handling which took two years of toil to get the suspension set up working, but it won't work *nono* You can blow smoke up my a*** all you like, I still need more power. The three cars I drove all had significantly more grunt than mine (not to mention more talent behind their steering wheels) and that is the excuse I will be using over the coming weeks and months. I hope the car's working for Llandow Paul. See you all there
  22. I can't see the Slippery Road warning sign that seems to be mandatory these days when there's any new surfacing done 😔. I'll be taking it very cautiously I can tell you.
  23. Free to a good home. This is a standard (no diagonal bracing) roll bar from my 2002 SV. It's in good condition and only did about 1,000 mikes before spending the rest of its life on my garage wall. You can either collect it or cover the postage.
