  1. .....without having to re-route cables or any other faff?
  2. Would be great to explore whatever you've found. I also have a route or two out this way around the Cotswold Water Park which are good fun.... Looks like the weather will put the kybosh on things for a while though.....? May also need a new battery. The current Banner looks like it's struggling to hold a charge.
  3. Quoting grenpayne: I think that'll be Geoff out for a run [/pQuote Yep, that's Geoff's reg. Hi Andrew. Give me a shout sometime when you're planning a blat.
  4. Strictly speaking "no" and "no". If you use a stick-on with the white background, as many do, I suspect you may not have too much of a problem. It is an MOT failure and a fixed penalty notice offence (I think).
  5. When I bought my 7 from CC I asked the salesman what I should do about running-in the car..... Him: "Are you going to keep it forever?" Me: "Probably not" Him: "Wait till you've got it warm then thrash the tits off it" Me: "Oh....Fair enough" And that's what I did.

    spray paint

I've had Halfords make up a bottle (smallest size was about 250ml as I recall!) of paint in that colour and was offered a spray can as an alternative. With someone who knows what they're talking about you should be fine.
  10. T'was indeed me. Out to blow away the cobwebs. Not sure who needed it most, me or the car!? Glad you appreciated the effort. As for what was attached to the windscreen, I was trying out my recently aquired SBFS half-hood. That's my defence anyway M'Lud.
  11. Hi Geoff. Hope the sale goes well. Having seen this car in the flesh, and knowing how meticulous you are with your maintainance, someone will be getting a very nice motor. Edited by - huwp on 5 Jan 2012 21:34:17
  12. Yellow on a Q plate (froof up) at about 8.15 this morning. My six year old had been counting Minis to pass the time but then got very excited to see a 7.

  14. Alas we were in the main car. I did have the seven out first thing though. We needed four seats for the drive over to Prescott.
  15. Spotted heading towards Ashton Keynes at about 4.30. Lovely day for it. We were on our way back from Prescott Hill Climb.

    21 and R500

It is. There is a Pistonheads meet there 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 9.00 am. Good selection of cars there on Sunday inc. Noble, SL v12, Vantage, M3 CSL, TVR 350i. It is only the second month since we started meeting there. Pop over it's a good way to blow away the cobwebs and still get home at a decent hour.

    21 and R500

Good to meet you chaps this morning at Costa in Swindon.
  20. O/T But I've just had a new engine after 6,000 miles in a new Polo GTI. VW tried to argue that a 1.4 producing 180 bhp and 128 bhp per litre would use oil. It was using 1 and 1/2 litres every 1,000 miles. The dealer thought that totally unacceptable and after some agro with VW the engine was replaced. The consumption you are experiencing does seem high.

    No gears

Not sure about the clutch stop. Will remove pedal box cover and see what's what. Whether it will mean anything to me is another matter. Edited by - huwp on 7 Aug 2011 18:31:43

    No gears

Slight graunching as I came out of 4th then stuck in neutral.

    No gears

Car is a Sigma 125 with a 5 seed Type 9 'box and has done 9,000 miles. Out driving today and after 20 minutes couldn't select any gear. Coasted to a halt, then after a couple of minutes all seemed well again. Drove another 60 miles with no problem. Thoughts?

    Very O/T but....

Quoting RS2000: It might be the one out of Lotmead Farm PYO between Wanborough and Swindon, pretty sure they have one for shows, their annual 'Strawberries and Steam' and so on. Was it towing a big trailer?[/pQuote Yep, big trailer on the back. I understand there is some sort of steam fair at South Cerney this weekend?

    Very O/T but....

My initial concern was how he would negotiate the magic roundabout. Then again I thought, who's going to argue with something like that!
