  1. Not sure if I'm too late to the party, but if there's still a set available then I'd be interested. Thanks. Neal
  2. This shows my sealed system on the car. Parts were purchased from James Whiting as a complete kit. I found I didn't have room for the expansion tank at the front of the engine bay, so I made a mount that fitted just in front of my heater, since removed. Hose runs are exactly the same as in the diagram of Roger's. hope this is of some help.
  3. I'll put my hand up. Not far from MK, Northampton, and the car could be made ready. Not sure if it's the ideal candidate, being a live axle xflow though. Neal.

    Heater

I have one I've removed. No idea of worth, or whether it's of the style you need. It has one vent on top, two that pass through the bulkhead and a 7 on the front. If it's of any use let me know. Neal.
  5. That is the Jigsaw that everyone mentions, yes. They list a fully rebuilt, ready to fit, LSD Differential at £1300. They do mention contacting them for your exact requirements though. Neal.
  6. It's not just Jigsaw racing that can mod your diff. As the diff. is shared between the small chassis Triumph range any decent Triumph specialist should be able to help. Rimmer Bros. and Canley classics are two that spring to mind. That opens up the whole range of ratios too. 3.2 for the cruisers, up to 4.8 for the sprinters. Jigsaw may be able to help with uprated half-shafts though. They advertise them for the Dolomite, but it may only be for the sprint and they may be different. Looking at the front of the car, if you want to upgrade the hubs and stub axle, without changing the PCD, Canley classic do this kit here
  7. Despite what everybody says, the world is definitely Flat! Probably no surprise, I'm using a Linn Sondek. Moved the motor to the front left, 7 o'clock position though and housed the power supply in it's own box. Makes it a little different to the norm.
  8. Whoops. Meant to add. Roger, the Nac does have a remote, which makes volume tweaking easy. Most of my listening is from vinyl, so you still have to get up every now and then, which somewhat defeats the object.
  9. Hi Gavin. The Nac82 is fitted with MM phono boards. I also run a high output moving coil cartridge. The connectors on the rear of the NAC are BNC, for the phono section. Unless your arm cable has them fitted already, you'd need to source some adaptors. Saying that, I might have my old ones in the box. Hope this helps. Neal
  10. For sale, due to downsizing and simplifying. Naim NAC82 pre-amp. oiro £800 Naim Hi-Cap power supply. oiro £400 Naim NAP140 power amp. oiro £350 All are olive cased. Delivery/ collection method can be discussed. Neal.
  11. If you're worried about swarf travelling round the engine, you should look at replacing the oil cooler too. The last thing you'd need is to rebuild the engine and whilst running it back in a piece of swarf from the cooler make it's way back into the oilways.
  12. Damper and upper link to chassis 40-45lbft Damper to lower wishbone 40-45lbft Both should be 1/2"UNF type bolts. Hope this helps. Neal.
  13. I have a side exit silencer fitted to my car. Was originally a rear exit with 4-2-1 manifold. I bought a side exit silencer from CC and an adaptor pipe, I'm pretty sure, from Redline. Adaptor allows fitment of the side exit silencer without the need for a new manifold. The silencer mount is just in front of the rear wing and I've had no problems with fouling or ill fitting. Hope this helps. Neal.
  14. As I need to get new tyres, I thought it would be a good time to also to clean up and improve the looks of my Weller steel wheels. The finish of the wheels has lasted pretty well, unfortunately a couple of the wheels are beginning to get tatty in places. Was wondering what the best way of finishing them would be? Blast and spray? Blast and powdercoat? Blast and enamel? Maybe acid dipping would be a better way to clean all the old finish off and eliminate the odd rusty patch. Cheers.
  15. Colin. You need to get in touch with either Jigsaw Racing, or Canley Classics. Both do new CWP sets in a selection of ratio's for the Herald/Spitfire diffs, which are internally the same as the Ital. Hope this is of some help. Neal.
  16. If you're able too, I know that not all engines installs allow it, you could fit a through the bonnet manifold. Would certainly cut down the temperature side of things and save the alternator. A bit like this one here. Been looking for a picture for ages and finally found one. Hope you don't mind me linking it Steve? Neal.
  17. Nifty, Cheers anyway. Neal.
  18. Nifty, If, after your post in Tech-talk, the 4-1 exhaust does turn out to be for a X/flow. Any chance of possible first dibs please? Neal.
  19. Nifty, It sounds like a X/flow 4-1 manifold. Does it look like this?
  20. Could the crank wheel just be a speed sensor for the ecu? Is there a sensor running on the clutch end of the crank? How were the sparks distributed? If there is a distributor that could have the TDC sensor in it.
  21. Myles, Do you happen to have any photos of the seat and enlarged hole?
  22. Cheers guys. That sorts that out then. Looking at the Tillet website I saw that they do a low back versions. I suppose I could always fit one of those for the passenger with a FIA headrest and have the highbacked version for the driver only. As a matter of interest, I picked up a flyer from Stoneleigh for Triton Race Products. They do a range of seats in the Caterham/Tillet style. Has anybody used them? or knows of anyone who has? Their prices are quite competitive compared to Caterham and Tillet.
  23. I'm looking at getting rid of the bench seats from my car and replacing them with something along the lines of the Caterham/Tillet style seats. The question is. My car is fitted with an early single diagonal FIA style bar with petty strut. Would the passenger headrest on the tillet style seats foul the strut? Cockpit floor is non-lowered and the passenger seat would be fixed and non-adjustable. Cheers.
  24. I know that it's adding weight and possibly unnecessary complications, but if the problem only arises after a hot start, would fitting an auxiliary electric pump be any benefit? Reasoning being, once the engine is stationary the coolant no longer flows, if the fan runs after switch off it will only be of limited benefit as a cooling aid. By fitting a small electric pump, coolant flow is maintained and there would, hopefully, be a decrease in the heat soak and less of a chance that there will be a pressure spike. The auxiliary pump could be run by a controller very similar to a turbo timer. That way the length of time it would run for could be adjusted for the best results. Would this work? Is this a problem just with the K series? Or are other engines susceptible also?
  25. I'm looking into upgrading the xflow to injection and stumbled upon this site. ATPower Site is still under constuction, but from what I can see they look fairly special. Perfect for those looking for every drop of power that they can get. 😬
