  1. Am I going mad ??? I cant see a build buy for an LSD
  2. All I did was reconnect the plug to the ecu underneath the dash. Looking at a wiring diagram it looked like that went to an ariel, so I didnt touch that one. I then enabled the immobiliser in the Emerald ECU and bobs yer uncle.
  3. Or maybe I am just to impatient.... Will wait 40 seconds and see if it works.... I got bored waiting at about 10 seconds...
  4. Dont worry, it seems to be sorted now. I reconnected that ecu under the dash and relearnt the code and all seems to be working fine now. The only question that I do have.... is should the immobiliser auto arm when the ignition is switched off ? Currently it seems that I have to manually enable the immobiliser, this may be by design, but I thought I would check. Cheers.
  5. I have managed to have a look at this in a bit more detail tonight. It would seem that all the plug has been removed from the ecu under the steering wheel, which I assume is why its not working, also the pink wire (which I have read somewhere on here may be required) has been specifically cut. Can anyone point me in the right direction... If I plug the ecu back in and resolder the pink wire (assuming I can find the other end) should it all be ok ? Will plugging in the standard ecu do anything else ? Or should I just accept that the immobiliser in permanently disabled ?
  6. I am planning on re enabling the immobiliser on my caterham, it's not been active for a long time (at least 6 months) is there anything that I should do ? I am worried that I enable it in the software and then can't disarm the immobiliser. It's a k series with an emerald ecu.
  7. That's ok then for a minute I was thinking that I was being very ignorant. Long day for you all then! Hope you had a good journey back, the roads out of the area were looking pretty bad.
  8. 😶‍🌫️ not sure if you all followed me coz you though I was leading didn't know whether to stop and say hi or just keep going. Nice to see a few of you out and about. Was planning on coming to the meet this tuesday so hope to see some of you there.
  9. The intercom has a 3.5mm jack on the back as well as the din. I have used the jack to play music. Its a two way 3.5mm as this was also used to connect to a video recorder to record the pacenotes over the video footage. We had to stop this coz playing it back to people was very embarassing with all the swearing 😬
  10. This is an intercom that I had in my rally car, its one that has the peltor connectors. I have an open face and a closed face mic and headset combination that I also used to have with this. I have butchered the open face one in trying to make an intercom built into a headband. Last time I tried it still works. It is possible to by practice headsets from someone like demon tweeks for this I think they are about £30-40 each. I have also added a cigarette plug to the end to work in a car. I have since upgraded my rally cars intercom so no longer need this. It may be of some use to someone on here. Considering I have chopped and messed about with one of the intercoms I think £45 for the lot is probably a fair price. I can send this via post pretty much anywhere in the uk for about £6 extra (will confirm the exact price) or am happy for collection also. Pictures available if necessary. Emerson
  11. Dave H, Ah yes of course... that would make sense... Oh well I guess that means I need to splash out on some tyres. Thanks for the info
  12. I should say that the new car has two sets of rims. One set with the track day tyres on which are 6.5 and 8 inch x 13 inch rims which I was going to keep for track days, and a set of 14 inch road wheels.
  13. Yeah, I had that thought last night. The new car has 14 inch rims and the old one 13 inch. It's never that easy
  14. I have just bought a new caterham which is a S3 De-Dion, the old one was a live axle. I am planning a trip in the next couple of weeks but the new caterham is running on R888 and A048's which are probably not ideal for a road trip in the rain. I think I already know the answer, but is there any chance that the spare wheels I have from the live axle would fit on the de-dion ? Saves me buying a new set of tyres ?
  15. Is the rakeway upgrade worthwhile doing then, bear in mind this car only sees a track a couple of times a year
