  1. Sorted. They deduct postage afterwards and refund as you found, Graham. Cheers, Neil ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  2. Agreed. And given you're planning a service from you other post, no better time to change it! Far easier when there's no oil in it Oil presseure senders give no end of problems. I got through 2 in a year before I listened ... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  3. The members area mentions a Club discount of 20% + free delivery for 2+ tyres. When I enter the code it gives me the discount but keeps adding on the postage when I select 'Mainland England - Tyres only' as the delivery region on 4 x R888's. Any ideas or is there an error somewhere? Ta
  4. Through a flexible duct a bit like a tumble dryer, that is removable and compressable for storage. You need to vent it through a window like any air con unit, but it has a narrowing end to reduce the width you need the window open to an inch or two.
  5. Having just re-done my cooling system, these look like a useful addition for anyone renewing hoses around the heater. Edited by - Neil_K on 26 Jun 2010 01:11:19
  6. Perfect for these hot nights! A slimline portable air con unit about 2 years old, complete with remote control. Top of the range, 12000 BTU unit. Used only very lightly in our previous flat, just during hot spells in the summer. We put it on for an hour or so before going to bed - that's the only use it's had. Works brilliantly, quiet enough to sleep with it on, not a lot more to say! It's still as good as new but since moved house and it's surplus to requirements. It's this model here £400 brand new, asking £250 ono collected to a blatchatter for this top of the range unit before I ebay it. No urgency to pick it up so long as sale is agreed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  7. Glad they'll sort it Shift lights are a top investment ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  8. Thanks all. It's certainly not the handbrake cable though. I can make it creak by bounching up and down on the suspension, and it's definately coming from the A-frame / chassis mounting points, not the DD mount. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  9. Don't be put off by the battery tray modifications. All you are doing is simply filling the void left by the Banner because that Powervamp PVR25 is about half the depth. Some people use a block of wood, others (like me) bend a small piece of ali in a vice to brace the bottom. Or some really posh people re-do the whole battery tray to fit the slimmer depth. If you do decide on a PVR battery and want to have a go, I think I have a spare battery tray you can have at cost and a vice to bend it with if you can get to mine (Banstead, Surrey). Alternatively, PVR do a really fancy bracket to flat-mount the battery - ideal to use if you want to re-site it where the heater was/should be, assuming you don't have a heater. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  10. Get a gel battery. I have a Powervamp and would certainly get another. But as mentioned above, they hate being left with parasitic loads like immobilisers on them, so you must leave them on a conditioner - or - just disconnect the earth/negative when you get back from blatting ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  11. Apologies all for the hijack, but I was about to post up a similar topic about washer arrangement for the A-frame to Chassis mounting points. I'm getting a loud creaking noise from these two joints and have dismantled and re-mantled a few times now. The bushes are new - it's a new A-frame. Bolts were torqued up to 60 but i can ease them off, although I don't think this is the issue. Something is rubbing to give a very loud creak from these joints as the car rises up and down on the suspension, so I'm not questioning if I have the correct washer arrangement? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  12. Hi Pete, Sorry to hear about your experience. For what it's worth, I ordered some hoses (not a kit, I botched my own version together as I already had some parts) 2 weeks ago from SFS and they arrived within 2 days with a decent discount and fantastic, helpful service. I couldn't reccommend them enough. Hopefully for you though, it has just been an unfortunate set of circumstances and you refund arrives tomorrow ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  13. Not sure about tomorrow, but unlikely. Depends when I can get out of the Kremlin. If not we can sort something out, I'm in no rush. I've moved to the top end of Banstead now, near Romans if ever you are in the area. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!

  15. Steve at Simply Tyres always used to get really good deals on R888's. Give him a call on 07737 741634 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  16. Normally, the CRB 'squeals' when the clutch is depressed, not the other way around. I would try the clutch cable as a first shout. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  17. Cheers all. Chris, I've just been looking at alu plates. The 'blanking plate' from CC is £17-ish. Alu in B&Q is about a tenner, so for the 🙆🏻 of trying to fabricate something, I thought I may as well get the plate from CC. Although if this place can do something cheaper?? Also, the CC one is black?? Not that it really matters I suppose, but silver would be preferable. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  18. John, precisely. Part of the reason to ditch something I don't use anyway. Cheers Ian, I already have the heater bypassed from when my heater matrix gave up it's fight with rust. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  19. Thinking of ditching the heater. I don't really use it and it's not plumbed in at the moment anyway. Anyone removed their heater then regretted it? Not overly concerned about the weight saving, but the current arrangement looks a bit messy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  20. I use insulating tape each time . Dead easy to do - French coppers at least seem to be hotting up on the headlight issue, probably because it's an easy, no arguments fine they can impose. It takes under a min to do and lets face it, a Seven is not exactly subtle on French roads! Worth doing if only for the peace of mind and peels off no problem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  21. Angus, I got about 1.1 litres into my Titan LSD from completely empty (first fill). Not sure about the AP though but I'd suggest you'd want 2 bottles to be safe. I guess your diff was OK after inspection out of interest? I used this Silkolene stuff here, partly because of reviews and partly because I rate Silkolene products very highly and use them throughout. Seems to work very well, no complaints at all ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  22. Thank you all, once again Simon - definately interested in flywheel and clutch. They were just the parts I was looking to change to, so will send you a BM. Thanks Arnie - thanks, I'm happy to do the legwork. Just need to see on time though, that's all. MIck - thanks very much for the offer. My clutch is technically newer than yours in terms of milage! (although it gets some abuse). Seeing as I have it all out, I want to upgrade while I have the opportunity, but very kind of you to offer yours for free ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  23. Is it just a bolt-on upgrade? i.e. a direct swap? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
  24. John, BM sent I'm now considering a lightened flywheel whilst I'm changing the clutch. This is a slippery slope ... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calm down dear, it's only a forum!
