  1. Thanks Ben With my experience of Porsches, I genuinely believe that the nicest cars, and best value, are often the ‘entry level’ models - whether Boxster/Cayman or 911. Adding more power, body addenda, driver aids, luxury features, stiffer suspension, bigger wheels, added weight and complexity, doesn’t IMO make a better Porsche - certainly for road use. ‘Less is More’ as they say. The important thing is to buy carefully. An old or cheap Porsche can be painful, expensive and frustrating. The best cars are normally factory original, desirable spec/colour, low(ish) mileage/owners, immaculate condition, FPSH and the comprehensive extended Porsche Warranty for complete peace of mind.
  2. Thanks for that, but not really engaged with Facebook. 911 and Seven makes a very nice combination. I’ve only ever had 911s, as my main car, since the 1980s - two 3.2 Carreras, two 964s, three 993s, two 996s, two 997s and three 991s - a 991.1C4 GTS (PDK), a 991.2GT3 Touring, and this one - the simplest, but nicest. It has taken me a while to find the affection for the 992, but this is next - same colour and spec this 991.
  3. Thought I’d pop this in here, just in case it is of interest to anyone. I’ve had 911s for nearly 40 years and always found the base, coupe, manual models to be the sweetest, and this has been one of the nicest for real world road use - comfortable, fast, economical and practical. it is due to go to the dealership shortly, but thought I would offer it here for a touch over their price. NOW SOLD SUBJECT TO FUNDS Porsche 991.2 Carrera Coupe Manual Specification • 991.2 Carrera 2 Coupe • Special Porsche Paint to Sample (PTS) – ‘Nardo Grey’ • Special Black/Bordeaux Full Leather Interior • 7-Speed Manual Gearbox • 19” Carrera Wheels (Agate Grey/Silver) • Porsche Crest Coloured Wheel Centres • Sports Seats Plus • Heated Seats • Ventilated Seats • Bose Surround Sound • Cruise Control • Park Distance Control • Porsche PDLS Headlamps (LED) • Porsche Design Fuel Filler Cap • Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE) • Porsche 991 ‘T’ Front Splitter • Fitted Porsche Cover History • First Registered 24.02.17 • Two owners • Porsche Supplied and Maintained - by Porsche (Lovetts) Swindon • Full Porsche Service History File - Last Inspected Feb 2024 (Next Service 24 March 2025) - New MoT – to February 2025 - New Extended Porsche Warranty to 24 March 2025 - Goodyear Eagle F1s tyres (2021/22 - 6.5mm all round) - SOLD
  4. Renault Twizzy EV https://www.press.renault.co.uk/assets/documents/original/14737-RenaultTwizyPressKit2018.pdf Renault's clever town/city/school-run 2-seater EV 2018/68 Black with red detailing, Only 1,800mls - Supplied and maintained by Renault (recent Annual Service & MOT) Super Condition. Garaged in Central London Nice Spec., including owned battery and removable windows This was bought by my daughter, Jamie, from Renault for use in London, and has proved very practical, a lot of fun, cheap to run, and especially easy to park. However, she is going to be in America for much of the next couple of years, so reluctantly selling it. Had a 'trade offer' of £7,600 - so looking for £8k (+ish) Photos, further info, serious interest - please email - mvc@fly7.co.uk Thanks
  5. Thanks Patrick - all received. Car is now provisionally sold.
  6. I say 'Interesting' because: 1. We bought it from the first owner - fellow 'batchatter' Chris Collins - on this FS Forum, 7 years ago 2. It is unusually hi-spec - with virtually every Factory Option when Chris bought it, new, at a List Price of over £19k 3. We bought it for my daughter, Jamie, on her 17th Birthday, in 2015 - her first 'road' car, which she has used until now (some of you may know Jamie from her racing - but rest assured, the Polo has been carefully used and looked after ). Good Bits: - 2013 (13) Polo - 5dr SEL - 6spd Manual - Finished in Oryx White Metallic (£900 option) with Black Leather/Alcantara Sports Interior (£900 option) - 17" Boavista Wheels with excellent Goodyear Eagle F1s - Reversing Sensors, Rain Sensors, Cruise Control, Heated Seats, Air Conditioning, Multi-function Computer, Storage Pack, VW RNS 310 Touch-screen Radio/Navigation (GPS)/Bluetooth, Tyre Pressure Sensors, Fitted VW over mats and boot mat, Multiple Airbags - Excellent Condition throughout - No Accidents, Original Paintwork - 74k mls, FSH (mainly VW) - will be supplied with fresh Service and new MOT - Still covered under Official VW Extended Warranty (until March 2022) - we renewed it each year - Everything works, as it should, and still drives like it did when we first got it Bad Bits (very few) - Few very minor, hardly noticeable, cosmetic chips and blemishes - commensurate with use/age- but nothing unsightly Price As said, new it was over £19k. WBAC have offered £5,300 prior to inspection. They will knock a bit off for the minor cosmetics, but annoyingly won't add anything back for the hi-spec options or VW Warranty. We'd rather it went to a good home than consigned to the Trade, so we would be looking for £4,900. It would make a perfect 'first car' for someone (as it did for Jamie), or practical run-around (as it did for me, occasionally). Good swift performance and excellent economy. Easy in town or comfortable and relaxing on longer trips. Car garaged nr Tetbury, Gloucs Photos on request mvc at fly7.co.uk
  7. Thanks David You should have received a PM with my direct email mike

  10. I'm a 911ophile, but can also endorse the 981s. Had a high spec 981 Cayman GTS for two years - brilliant road cars, perfect size for UK roads. Fluent dynamics - some criticise the EPS, but I thought it was excellent. In fairness, the 981S is almost as good, and I wouldn't underestimate the base 2.7 981. Slight misgivings that I sold my 981GTS, but currently looking for a 991T.
  11. Some not very good pics - better ones on request
  12. Considering selling my brilliant Golf GTD (we have two, my daughter also drives one) Bought, pre-registered, directly from VW Swindon. August 2017 Atlantic Blue Metallic with Titan Black ‘GTi’ Interior Rare 3-Door - looks much more 'sporting' than the 5-Door Full GTi/GTD Spec including: DSG Semi-Auto Gearbox ‘Virtual’ Cockpit Adaptive Cruise Parking Sensors F&R Heated Seats Climate Control 18” Alloys (all excellent – alloy wheels ins to Nov ’20)) 33,000 mls Full VW Service History (recently serviced – next due in 10k mls) VW Warranty to 15.08.20 (extendable) Excellent condition throughout (recently detailed) 4 recent Goodyear F1 Eagles / 4-wheel Geo-Check / new battery (May '20) The Golf GTDs have been amongst the best cars we have owned – good looking, well built, superb real world driving enjoyment, very refined, excellent performance – yet 50 mpg, and very high spec. £13,500 Mvc at fly7.co.uk for pics or more info.
  13. Beautiful VW Golf GTD Mk7.5 Considering selling our brilliant Golf GTD. In fact, we bought two in 2017 – one for my daughter and one for my son – both pre-registered, directly from VW Swindon. They both insisted on the 3-door versions because they look visually more sporting and less boxy. Hadn’t thought about that, but it’s true – see pics. And, now quite rare, as VW stopped making them. My daughter, who normally drives a Formula 3 or AMR GT car, adores hers, and isn't selling, but my son has just bought an M2, so his may be available: August 2017 Atlantic Blue Metallic with Titan Black ‘GTi’ Interior Full Spec including: DSG Semi-Auto Gearbox ‘Virtual’ Cockpit Adaptive Cruise Parking Sensors F&R Heated Seats Climate Control 18” Alloys (all excellent – alloy wheels ins to Nov ’20)) 32,000 mls Full VW Service History (just serviced – next due Nov 20 or 10k mls) VW Warranty to 15.08.20 (extendable) Excellent condition throughout (recently detailed) 4 recent Goodyear F1 Eagles The Golf GTDs have been amongst the best cars we have owned – good looking, well built, superb real world driving enjoyment, very refined, excellent performance – yet 50 mpg, and very high spec. Just testing interest at the moment, as tempted to keep for my own use. £14,900 (can’t really go much lower) Mvc at fly7.co.uk for pics or more info.
  14. Good point - assume up to narrow bodied 964
  15. Thanks for the link - probably not quite big enough - open might be easier. Biggest car it would need to take would be an aircooled 911
  16. Advice request posted in Chit Chat, but main requirements are: - 4.5m Long x 2m Wide - 'Extra Long' Sliding ramps for easy one-man loading/unloading (with or without attachment to tow vehicle) - Tyre rack and Fuel tin would be nice, but not essential - Prefer new, almost new or really excellent condition (ie hassle free) - Required in the next 7 days (ideally in Chesterfield) Many thanks
  17. These watches generally sell quite well - a Rolex Sub doesn't lose money, quite the opposite, especially a 'full set'. A recent Rolex Service adds value, or needs to be allowed for, if not, as these are c.£550 + and take 2-3 months. However, definitely worth getting the Watchfinder quote (they are normally quite good for a trade buyer) and then see if anyone on here wants to outbid them.
  18. Don't suppose it's an LV? Green bezel and dial?
  19. Would make a lovely Christmas present for someone
  20. Genuine bargain - Now Sold https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/mitsubishi/asx/mitsubishi-asx-3-5-door-suv-2012-62/8041442
  21. Two virtually new tyres. I had these fitted on a spare set of wheels for winter use on a Porsche GT4, but only used them for a few short trips before reverting back to the Michelin Cups for summer : * Goodyear Eagle F1 AS2s * 275/35 R20 102Y * Manufactured 2016 * Very highly rated in all tyre reviews * Especially noted for compliant ride and low road noise characteristics * Extended rim protection * Only covered 600 road miles * No damage, no punctures, hardly worn * Would cost £400 + new - ONLY £120
  22. Tunturi Treadmill sold to Alan Clark. Nordicflex Multigym still available - only £50
