  1. My VDO screen washer pump doesn't work. There is power going to it so presumably it has stuck or siezed through lack of use. Is there anywhere I can buy a new pump without buying the complete system? Or can anybody suggest a way to unstick the motor?
  2. Rollcentre T100 lap timer. Records up to 100 laps Battery powered so easy to install. New price £104.57, so £60? More details here- http://www.rollcentre.co.uk/rollcentre/html/t100_lap_timer.asp
  3. Dave The wind deflectors have your name on them. You're not going to use them on that brown car of yours, are you?
  4. Dave21. The fan is by Spal. It has 10 blades and the housing is 365mm diameter. John C. WP within the next 2 weeks looks unlikely but I can take them to Stoneleigh and I'm sure there will be plenty of people going from Surrey. Any good?
  5. MoleyBob. The lights are yours. Please drop me an email. John. Sorry the price doesn't include p&p but If you're not in a hurry I can get them to Worcester Park if that helps. Do you still want them?
  6. To those people who have enquired about wings and nosecones, I'll try to make a list of everything and send it out today if I have your email address. Sorry I can't really accept 1st Dibs etc for items which I haven't yet priced. I'll try to send out the list in order of receipt of postings or emails. A few more bits just added.
  7. Hi Roger. Well remembered! I'll hang on to the CR500s for you. I think I've replied to everybody else now, but if I've forgotten anybody please email me (not blatmail).
  8. James - I've checked my 'Sent Items' in Outlook Express and the photos are showing at the end of the main body of the email as well as attachments as jpg files. Let me know if you still can't see them as I did have this problem once before.
  9. Thanks to those who have emailed: I'll try to answer them all today. Mark D and James P. I've sent photos of the dash and screen.
  10. Rich Sorry I didn't spot your Wanted ad. Like most people here I rarely read that section, and I think there's a strong case for amalgamating the two sections. I had planned to put the exhaust bits on eBay because I'm not sure of their value, but you're welcome to email me with an offer. The silencer I've advertised has a larger inlet than the standard 2" collector and is also a couple of inches shorter in the main body, but I'll check in my garage because I think I've also got a 2" one. Probably not quite so shiny but still in good condition.
  11. Thanks for the replies and first dibs to all those who have expressed interest. I don't seem to have received any Blatmail so could all interested parties please email me directly at mikevernon@talktalk.net or post here. Mark and Stu. Sorry I don't know who made the dash blank but I can send photos if you send me your email address. Adbett. I have both front and rear. How rough would you like them? Manx7. Sorry the new nosecone is yellow. I might also have a black one too.
  12. Oh dear! I hadn't expected to sell all my sets of wheels quite so quickly. I'm a bit worried about suffering withdrawal symptoms. Luckily I've still got another spare set tucked away somewhere.... Thanks for the replies and first dibs to all those who have expressed interest. I don't seem to have received any Blatmail so could all interested parties please email me directly at mikevernon@talktalk.net. Mike

  15. If the plugs are wet it sounds like it's running very rich, which explains why it is ok when cold but not when hot. The probable cause is that the choke levers are not returning the jets to the normal position. The 1 and 1/8th inch SU carbs on the frogeye were particularly prone to this problem. To check it just press upwards on the bottom of the jet assemblies. If either or both of them move by even 2 or 3mm that is the cause of the problem. It may need the cork seal replacing or simple adjustment of the lever mechanism.
  16. A clamp on the nearest flexi pipe is the simplest and most effective method.
  17. Yes, I suspected that the oval tube is the same as the old BL fitting. But do any of those cars have a similar shape headrest to the Caterham S type? I have a new leather cover to match my newly recovered seat, but no headrest.
  18. I need one headrest for an S type seat. Does anybody know if headrests from earlier seats fit, or whether a headrest from another make of car might fit?
  19. One headrest wanted. Condition unimportant as I already have a new leather cover for it.
  20. Photos now sent to those who requested. I forgot to add that the car has aircon, electric sunroof, 17" Cup alloys with newish tyres, electric sports seats, recent clutch and flywheel.
  21. Manxseven and Wile7. Yes, I can send you photos but I'll need your email addresses. Graham. I've found some tyres so I'll send you an email. Wile7. I'm not sure that I really want anything quite so big and thirsty. And it looks a bit brown to me. But thanks for the offer. The Porsche passed it's MOT today but the battery has died over the winter. New one arriving on Tuesday. Any more offers? I'm quite happy with a cheaper Caterham + cash, or one needing work. Or a Honda S2000, any diesel Audi, BMW 320d or 530d, latest MX5, or anything interesting and not brown.
  22. 1990 911 Carrera 4 (964 model) RHD UK car 3.6 litre Manual g/box Grandprix white with navy blue leather Around 105k miles with service history (main dealers and specialists, service now due) Generally excellent condition 12 months MOT Value £12-15k judging by similar cars on Pistonheads Willing to exchange for your Caterham or for something else interesting
  23. The TMS article made interesting reading but I must say that I haven't noticed any performance increase when using higher octane fuels. Quote: "This apparent gain in power is due to the ECU of the car’s ability to advance the ignition timing to take advantage of the extra power the higher octane offers. Looking at the air/fuel ratio on the charts does show that the higher octane fuel allows a more efficient burn creating more power. " Is this correct? Does the ECU really detect higher octane fuel and advance the ignition timing accordingly?
