  1. Just had a fit of conscience and went down to the garage to check the build manual - it's 42lbft. Mike
  2. Definitely the right place to send it Barry. R&R have looked after all the Caterham race car gearboxes since day 1, so they know all the problems, fixes, and available updates. So you've got a 7 roadcar now? Mike
  3. Do you mean the blue bolts which affix propshaft to diff? 45lbft IIRC? Mike
  4. Or borrow a skateboard from the hooded yoof who's hanging around on the street corner... Mike
  5. Have you removed the black plastic connector from the pump itself? I made the mistake of doing this - when I reconnected it then unbeknown to me it pushed the part of the connector which is in the pump (white plastic/nylon bit) into the tank and so wasn't making contact. Ended up in the same situation as you - voltage at the end of the loom where it connects to the pump, but no pump action. Mike
  6. Put a bit of pipe onto it to get some leverage. Mike
  7. The top vent pipe on the neck, the one referred to in the Caterham document, would go the the charcoal cannister if fitted. I don't see any problem with blanking off the vent in the top of the tank, especially if the latest tanks don't have it. I can't remember if mine did or not... Mike
  8. IIRC the 803s are low impedance (4 ohm) so it won't do your ECU (which expects high impedance 16 ohm injectors) a whole lot of good... As Oily indicates, with nearly 60% overfuelling I don't think it would prove much anyway. Mike
  9. other wise you're going to spend the whole time at sky high revs And the problem is? 😬 Mike
  10. Blatmail seems to be down at the moment. Tiny Tim - would you be kind enough to forward the .pdf to me when you get it? Just to lighten the load on Steve's internet connection My email address can be deciphered from "blatmail at beesboy dot freeserve dot co dot uk". Thanks, Mike PS Me, the K-series kid, alone in the garage in the middle of the night with a Vx engine, what were they thinking of?
  11. It's what the CSR race cars run isn't it? 'Nuff said! Mike
  12. What's wrong with putting up some information which could be useful to our friends & colleagues in the club who might consider buying parts for their Caterham? Mike
  13. There are plenty of sprints in the SE(ish) if you don't want to drive huge distances to do the L7Club events. Some cracking venues, such as Lydden, Goodwood, Longcross and Hethel, and some slightly less-than-cracking-but-good-for-the-beginner (such as North Weald). For some calendars see here, here and here. I'm not trying to dissuade you from doing the L7Club champs., just making you aware of all the possibilities. Mike
  14. Not knocking your ad. or your efforts, just wanted to help avoid an unfortunate 7er from buying something which won't fit his car (and the resulting -ve feedback). Mike

I'm embarassed to admit that I was considering fitting some 13" whelks, but on Ken's advice I'm reconsidering. Mike
  16. I thought the Elise/Exige/340R used the big diameter 1.8 flywheel (and clutch?) which won't fit a Caterham? Mike

How's your head today then Ken 😬 Mike
  18. Cheaper to buy from Performance Braking, 01600 713117. Speak to John Freeth, he's very helpful. Mike

Jaysus. Not sure that I'd fancy having to do an emergency stop Mike
  20. IME Prescott is anything but a power hill - my datalogging shows that on my best run (just over half a second outside the Trevor/Scott record) I was at 93-100% throttle for 15% of the run, and 0-7% throttle for 35% of the run(!). Mike
  21. And it sounds fantastic... here
  22. Ummmm, mmmmm, mmmmmfffff, mmmmmm, deliberating some slightly alternative plans at the moment... but nothing to say yet! Mike
  23. Coming 3rd behind the Caterham of Ken Evans and the Westfield of Ash Mason you mean Ken holds the gong for quickest time up Loton this year I think (56.59)? Has anyone broken the long-standing Prescott record (46.9) jointly held by Trevor Willis (Westfield!) and Scott Moran (Caterham!) yet? Who holds sway at Shelsley? They don't appear to publish results/records on their site. Digging around shows that both Ken and Ash have been in the 32.7s this year. Who's for clubbing together to buy Ken that extra 200cc 😬 Should be fun! Mike
  24. Easy peasy: 1 Open boot cover. 2 Remove screws (2) holding fuel filler pipe cover in place 3 Remove screws (4 IIRC) holding aft section of boot floor in, tilt boot floor up out of the way (no need to extricate it completely which can be a tricky paint-scratching exercise). 4 Pull wires off sender (sender is the thing in the top of the tank with 2 wires going to it) 5 Undo sender screws and withdraw sender from tank. Try not to drop glowing fag ash down the hole... My sender has jammed in the 'full' position a couple of times - I bent the float wire slightly to stop it from jamming against the front of the tank. Mike
  25. Some discussion on this here Mike
