Just now; black C7CPG I think. Complete with large L7C badge. Enjoying a curry I suspect. I threw up after my last visit there...
  2. Interesting - I had a lightehed flywheel installed on my old VVC car and the difference was very noticeable- engine felt much more reposnive and heel and toe blip became almost subliminal. But now I know why better.
  3. Expat - you flatter me by assuming I know how to remove it ! All I know is how to ask Carl at the Auto Centre to do it, sadly ...
  4. On my (older) Duratec car the car will not turn over until immobiliser deactivated . And that has always been erratic- key in , wait might work. Or not. Key in waggle wire to ignition might work. Or not . Bloody awful device- any more effective alternatives that would keep insurer sweet ? (I'd chuck the whole immobiliser away if it weren't for insuarnce requirement)
  5. MIchael- but do you ? It's 'Harwood' as in the titled geezer but 'Harewood' as in the village . Or so my Dad used to tell me ..
  6. I don't know. I give all this free advice and you can't spell Lochinver right .... Delighted you enjoyed the trip - few things are better than a long day ahead , a Seven to drive and NW Scotland to play in . And many thanks to Rob for the bottle ! John
  7. ....but an impossibly cool Ferrari Daytona Spyder in North Yorkshire yesterday . In Rosso of course( Corse?) , top down and heading for Wensleydale and occupied by a couple whose combined age was north of 130 I'd say .
  8. My new one arrived - eventually; ,my old one is in the garage. Some chips and two cracks but legal- happy to loan if that would help. (S3 Black ).
  9. Tues pm 3ish . G reg X flow I think.
  10. A well proofed half hood should let in no water whatsoever - and mine doesn't.
  11. Having just put on my new set of CR500s I had to laugh at the utter b**ks on the sticky label from Avon which says , in efffect , these are speiclist motorsport tyres and we , Avon , are not responsible ever for anything that happens to you ever if the tyre is defective . What utter tosh -see you in court matey if your tyre just decides to self destruct when I am mid overtake .
  12. I belong to the school that says that my car doesn't so much have a security device as an easily stealable steering wheel.Hope mine is stuck on as it's never removed.
  13. Ditto- my man Carl will sort it when the car wakes up next month. He charges reassuringly small fees- which is how you survive in Darlington.
  14. Sorted - and insurance is paying
  15. I really need to get a new screen as mine is badly cracked and pitted even if MOT legit. The plain glass one is £90 at Caterham but I did find the heated one very useful. Doesn't seem to be listed on their on line store- anybody know how much and how available please?
  16. XXX http://www
  17. Saw twice on Sat afternoon- 2-30 ish and 3-45. Gent drivng had Caterham chequered cap . Not seen this car locally before.
  18. I have a Stack gauge on R400D. I have never got more than 29litres in allegedly 35 litre tank. LIght comes on with 5 litre left. So I do have 35 litres but the last 5 litres can't be picked up ? Or something ?
  19. I had a 5 speed SS - which meant that utterly fabulous little engine didn't get the treatment it deserved (ultra low 1st, 70 in 2nd and 5th suitable only for intergalactic space travel ). The engine was the best sounding Seven I have driven and the noise from 5k to 7600 was addictive. No power or torque below 5000rpm and I rather doubt the full 128bhp were all present and correct as an upgrade to 160 bhp VVC power utterly transformed the go department
  20. Because up means dip...and up should be full. A 2 movement switch is daft - a simple button which alters mode would be far better, especially when steering wheel mounted , as it is on one Seven I have tried - Mr Grim Reaper's.
  21. Driving my 2007 Seven at night the other day I was reminded how much irritates; not only the random lighting of some switches but the counter-intuitive 'dip switch' and the stupidly bright shift lights. On my car and presumably lots of others there is a green light which stays on constantly at less than 3500rpm- the 'econometer' or whatever- which is stupidly bright, if not as bad as the main beam light , which is stronger than the bloody headlights and which I have now taped over as it was so distracting . Little things but really.....
  22. I don't see that much variation in oil temps ; yes it takes longer to warm up when the ambient temp is cold but the running temperature doesn't vary that much and neither does water except when you are in slow traffic or stopped when it rises very quickly
