  1. Well after enquiries fronm 4 countries I still own the Seven - which now must go so I am still looking for offers.Car is £9k but am prepaerd to consider much lower figure for a quick sale. And the quicker the sale the lower you can try. Edited by - john aston on 19 Aug 2007 07:47:46
  2. It was K5 FUN en route back home after watching drag racing at Melbourne. My third spotted- gosh.
  3. Ed -after reading the above I can solve your problems- just buy my VVC 160 engined 93 car for £9k - you know it makes sense. And does owning a crossflow give one a persecution complex ?
  4. Well we are now on pistonheads at £10k.Am happy to consider any sensible offer though.Try me- you know it makes sense...
  5. Am amazed it was so loud; the test R400 Duratec I drove was actually almost too quiet and much more subdued than VVC(which was 98dB last time it was checked).
  6. Benefit of course is the huge improvement in aesthetics- forget all this techy stuff .
  7. No way will 130bhp get a 1/4 under 13 surely?Unless you have an unbelievably light shortgeared car.Having had quite afew goes with 160bhp I struggle to get below 14.2.But Maybe I'm crap at it?
  8. Some may find drag racing boring- that's because they have never seen it.Or , especially ,heard it.I've been an irregular 'Pod attender since the Dennis Priddle days- and found the above info fascinating.
  9. It was indeed - car seems to know it's for sale as it keeps trying to impress me.Good run but too many 40mph in the way.How was your blat ?
  10. A final bttt before I try pistonheads.
  11. Cheers Steve - but can't access page.What is it on ?
  12. Kawasaki green Superlight above Mansfield; blue SV in carpark behind paddock
  13. Not for me but worth mentioning that a friend and his wife recently drove a Maestro of similar vintage from UK to Senegal with no problems, even over the Sahara.
  14. So...wrong price, wrong time to sell , wrong place to advertise or what?Am not in huge hurry to sell so do I just BTTT this every few weeks ? Others ' experience welcomed.
  15. Yeah the price- the car is 14yrs old and has lots of miles.BUT most of the bits that matter are 2-3 years old. There is a lot of go for the money and dunno- £10.5K? What do people think- I want to price her to sell.
  16. A couple of sniffs but I need more than that please..
  17. I haven't GM but have emailed you
  18. My car is for sale because I have ordered an R400 and need the money... 1993 De Dion ; factory built and used as press car K14 CAT;now K5 FUN; was one of first 1.4S/S Bought by me in 1997 from Classic Carriage Co at 19k miles; major upgrade at 39k miles and further 15k since then. Leather cockpit/dash/tunnel and S type seats.Full harness driver side; FIA bar fitted 2003. 5 Speed. Prisoner wheels and lightly worn T1s Proxes; Clamshells. Upgrade 2004- VVC 160;lightened flywheel, competition clutch ;4-1 exhaust;new radiator ;new loom and instruments.Shiftlights; Freestyle suspension and adjustable shockers front and rear and adjustable front ARB.Apollo tank. Cherry Pearl Metallic. Momo s/wheel. Soft bits for Sevens Half Hood and OE full hood, heater. Mainly road use - 2-3 trackdays per annum .Quick enough to keep R300s honest. This is not a trailer tart car but a well used and sorted Seven ideal for first time owner. Not immaculate- some patina in form of starring etc - but still a lovely car which has attracted a lot of favourable comment.Has been pictured in Low Flying on several occasions- see Nov 05 re Scots trip for example. Number Plate K5 FUN included. I am open to sensible offers.Email me or 01609 883613 after 7pm.
  19. Another thanks for a great day at my favourite circuit, even in the wet. This wil be my last track day in my current car so it was a good swansong.
  20. Sounds a great idea;but clearly needs to be complemented by aircon and traction control to make it into a proper sportscar.Better still go for the fullfat option of a Smart cabriolet, what a beast.

  22. Auto Centre Darlington 01325 286481- ask to speak to Carl
  23. Just getting Seven in regular use and am convinced something is amiss- I have Freestyle suspension and whilst front feels fine the rear just suddenly seems unbelievably stiff, making even the slightest bumps a bit too exciting- can feel myself being tosssed about (quiet ).I had the rear set on 4 clicks last year and it was firm but ok.Am running 3 clicks at back but now find that o/s adjuster thingie won't budge any more so can't slacken off any further at moment. I have convinced myself something IS up but due to technical numpty status am struggling.I will be speaking to my man Carl in Darlington but any suggestions, offers of counselling please? And...connected ? Although suspension quiet during first 20 mins of a run if I then go over a large bump at walking pace- eg getting back on to drive, pulling on to verge to let truck get by on single track road I can hear a sort of dry squeaky groan. It sounds as if middle of car at front (but can't be can it?) so is A frame bush gone again? Last time it di d I just got the odd knock and this new noise is a first- not heard before despite many ks of miles over the years.
  24. Don't believe all this boll**cks about saving /losing weight- I lost 3 stone and car felt exactly the same.Getting in was better though.Best money I spent was on decent tyres
