  4. Can anyone advise me on which type of intercom is best, ideally I'm looking for something which is portable that I can use at motor race meetings and in the 7. When I go to F1 meetings I generally use ear defenders but this then prevents me from talking to my wife or freind while the racing is on, with a portable intercom unit I could then use them as ear defenders and intercom. 5. I have to agree with some of these comments but I work for Chinese company and can tell you that it is world class, admittedly they have employed "foriegn experts" to design and run the factory but the product (pectin) conforms to all international standards. More Chinese companies are employing experts from abroad now and eventully they will be as good as the rest. Look back at Japan 40 years ago they made crap copies of western goods but now they are first class. As for polluting the world China has been forced by the west to make cheap goods such as clothes and toys as we in the west were not prepard to pay for our own expensive stuff, this forced China to manufacture first and then realise later that this was causing massive pollution, just like the UK during the industrial revolution, yes china are 60 to 80 years behind but are catching up very quickly. 😶‍🌫️ Mature enthusiast Black with Silver stripe 1.8K super sport. 6. Mine stopped at 29999 but suddenly started again, but it needed the head gasket to blow to do it, since I had the new haead gasket it just started again. I am not saying you should do anything so drastic but perhaps they just stick at 9999. Alan 😶‍🌫️ Mature enthusiast Black with Silver stripe 1.8K super sport. Missing my seven.
  7. Shad Very interesting reading about the different filters, so cheap can be expensive, whereas dear can mean saving money long term, it's an old addage. Alan 😶‍🌫️ 😶‍🌫️ Mature enthusiast Black with Silver stripe 1.8K super sport. Missing my seven.
  8. Yes Alan7 that could be the answer, or trying to keep up with DJ may have done it. But that was probably the reason for the head gasket failure. Alan Mature enthusiast Black with Silver stripe 1.8K super sport. Missing my seven. Edited by - Alan and Daisy on 14 Oct 2008 08:54:23
  9. Some time ago I searched for any problems with the mileometer and trip sticking as mine had stopped at 30K, it appears that this was not uncommon, as I now spend most of my time in China I haven't done anything about it. On my recent return home I was out blatting with the Taffia and the thing was still stuck, however during the blat the head gasket failed and now that I have had it fixed and road tested it the mileometer has started to work again, therefore it saves me taking it out and sending it off. I am not saying that to fix it you need to blow your head gasket but some thing has made it work again. Alan Mature enthusiast Black with Silver stripe 1.8K super sport. Missing my seven.
  10. Thanks for all the help, I will need to refer to this when I am home again in September/October. Alan Mature enthusiast Black with Silver stripe 1.8K super sport. Missing my seven.
  11. Yes I am on limited miles, so limited now that I hardly do 1000 miles per year, but I would rather fix it any idea's or should I just replace it with new. If I replace it will I have to clock it up to 30,000? Alan Mature enthusiast Black with Silver stripe 1.8K super sport. Missing my seven.
  12. MINE HAS STUCK AS WELL ON 30,000.It seems this is not uncommon shall I just leave it or is it simple enough to repair. As I won't be back home until the end of September I am not in a hurry. Alan Mature enthusiast Black with Silver stripe 1.8K super sport. Missing my seven.
  13. Many years ago I had a Ford Anglia 100E (fitted with a 1500cc Cortina motor) and fitted bonet clips, the old rubber ones, after about 6 months they must have perished enough to become weak and both front ones snaped when I was doing about 60mph, luckily it flew clean over the car behind and landed in the middle of the road, the damge was mimimal and I was able to refit it with the aid of some tape to get me home. 23. I was thinking of changing the head lights on my 7 to smaller 5.5inch units as I am a short a** and sometimes have difficulty seeing the road on right hand bends because the lights obscure my vision.
