  1. I have put my car on PH this morning, prefer it to go to a club member and am prepared to negotiate. Link to PH here Tom Ward Edited by - tomward on 3 Apr 2011 13:36:18 Edited by - tomward on 3 Apr 2011 13:37:38
  2. Thanks for the suggestions all, just to add some detail, I was fortunate to receive a Kidney transplant just before Christmas donated by my hugely generous brother. As a consequence I am full of anti-rejection drugs that cause you be susceptible to melanoma, apparently statistically 1 in 5 go on to develop it, so I'm not taking any chances. If I could think of a way to keep the 7 I would, other than only going out at night i'm stumped.
  3. I am reluctantly selling my 7 due to Dr's orders, I have a increased risk of melanoma so no more Caterham red faces for me. The car is a Sigma 125 Roadsport in McClaren orange with leather seats and removable steering wheel, it is on good Toyo 888s and has covered approx. 10,000 miles. The car was built and SVAed by myself and I have serviced it to the Caterham schedules at reduced mileages. I would MOT as part of the sale (first one due May) The car is reliable and well sorted, it has been to Le Mans three times and holiday in France without a hiccup. Looking at prices on Pistonheads and the Caterham site I would suggest £17,500.00 is a good price for a private sale. I am aware that this is the wrong time of year to sell a 7 but thought I would offer it to members before putting it on Pistonheads. I am not in hurry to sell but if someone wants it now that would be ideal. There is a picture of the car on Pistonheads under my Profile tomward7 PS. I have moved to the dark side and got a TVR350T with a roof. Tom Ward
  4. Two pack will not set without hardener, normally mixed 2:1 paint to hardener.
  5. I have found someone locally, extremely helpful he is mixing me a litre to pick up tonight, It is Glasurit line 22, the mixing formula is on Glasurit website I also have the code. anyone needs the details blatmail me.
  6. I have just found the Glasurit formula for Mclaren Orange on their website, it looks to be the right colour, any one know if they are really the same colours ( Aztec and Mclaren)?
  7. Does any one know the paint code for the above, French delivery van re-designed my back panel at Le Mans, I need to get it mended this week, CC need 2 weeks to deliver 1 ltr of paint.
  8. I am in the process of sevicing the car for the spring and discovered that both brackets that attach the alloy water rail to the inlet manifold and block have snapped off. Has anyone else seen this occur ? 2 years old now so no warrenty left, I can take it work and get it welded but wondered if there is a history of this fault. any comments gratefully received
  9. Dave, I have replied to your email with a cunning plan, Tom,
  10. I have one, just a standard Sierra unit ex from a Tiger I had before the Caterham, any reasonable offer accepted, it in the way in the garage. Located Spalding Lincs, Tom Ward
  11. Thanks Stationary, Washed the alternator pulley with thinners and the belt with good old fairy liquid, squeal has gone so far. all seems to be symptoms from the dreaded Sigma radiator failures, tensioner was completely solid, before I stripped and cleaned it, other owners with failed radiators beware. Tom Ward
  12. I have an intermittent squealiing noise at low revs, I have serviced the front belt tensioner (appeared to be seized after water from radiator leak contamination). Thought I had cured the problem, but still squealing from the alternator or waterpump. Does anyone know of failing alternator bearings or waterpump failures on the Sigma as yet. 7000 miles seems a bit early for a failure of either.
  13. Does anyone know what is an acceptable amount of play in a Caterham steering rack, I have a 1 year old Roadsport with a removable Momo that has about 4-5 mm play in each direction if you waggle the wheel. The play is in the rack, not in the steering wheel splines or UJs, this slack seems to be contributing to instability at speed, the tracking is set parallel with 1 3/4 degs of neg. camber. I am fairly sure there was no play a year ago when I built the kit.
  14. Thanks Ossie, thats where I started
  15. Just fitted 888s onto Roadsport on 14", anyone know best pressures to run on the road,
