  1. Not quite the solution you want, but for the short term, if you press CTRL when you click on a link it opens in a new tab
  2. I guess that is why it didn't weigh any less. It only needs to be as strong as the steel version which should be achievable with carbon fibre for less weight. The photo of it certainly makes it look 'chunky' - I assume that if it was made up using slightly more 'refined' techniques (probably at a huge cost) it would be as strong as a steel chassis but lighter.
  3. With the shift lights due to arrive shortly... Ian - did you manage to take a picture of your connectors? Jon
  4. excellent - I am off work on Friday. I hope they arrive by then!
  5. All done. Hopefully I have sent him everything he needs. Jon
  6. has no-one tried this, or was it missed?
  7. payment sent - can't wait! I was driving with the aeroscreen and earplugs today and noticed that you can't hear the engine note as clearly so these should be just the ticket!
  8. I have just got my hands on a Go Pro hero 4 Session (the black cube one) which doesn't have the ability to take an external mic. I was thinking about having a separate audio recording and then combining it to the video using the Go-Pro Studio editing software. There are loads of digital audio recording devices ranging from cheapo dictaphones, to high end stuff. I was thinking of something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0144JHW4E/ref=s9_simh_gw_g267_i1_r?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=3HQMXH25JR3XY3ZQG34F&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=867551807&pf_rd_i=desktop and was wondering if anyone did the same. Jon
  9. The previous installation had a hole through the bulkhead so I ran a long bolt through the handlebar clamp and through to a nut in the engine bay. Not elegant and I added some adhesive pad to make it a bit more secure. There are probably more appropriate fitting ones out there but I just bought this one as it was cheap and had good reviews ( and a USB socket which is the future! )
  10. By way of completion, and in case anyone is searching 12V sockets in the future, I have just installed this from Amazon, as nowhere local seemed to sell one which had a USB socket. It seems to work fine so far (30mins and counting!), has a USB socket, an inline fuse, and a cool blue light https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B017BJUCVE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Jon
  11. yup - count me in please Jon
  12. Good thinking JK. I'm off to pick up a new one now as I want it for Dunsfold tomorrow.
  13. I've just given it a test with a multimeter and it is live (12.6V on idle and 12.3V with the engine off). I am going to take the socket out and see if it's something physical on the inside that's not making contact.
  14. Factory fitted I think. K series. I've turned ignition etc but nothing.
  15. As the title. I ordered a new phone charger for it but still no joy. I was wondering if the fuse was blown, but not sure which fuse it runs through as there its one obviously labeled. Any suggestions? Jon
  16. Dom - PM sent JK, just about to send you a link to the photos, Let me know if you can't see them Jon

    Bulb upgrades

Kal-El, are you using your coloured bulbs in clear lenses, or are you still with the coloured plastic lenses?
  20. anyone? - there must a be a couple lying around gathering dust somewhere.....
  21. As the title. I am considering having a go at making one in carbon fibre, and would like one to make a mould from. This may end in tears and sticky fingers, but there's no harm in trying! I assume that the left and right are the same shape. Anyone got one lying around? Jon
  22. thanks - that's my job list added to for Friday. Jon
  23. I am looking to do this too, as I am strugling to get above 60°C in this weather. If attaching it to the nose cone, do you mean the back/front of the grill? If so is there a danger than the extra drag will pull out the grill (and send it backwards into the radiator matrix)? Thanks Jon
  24. I saw the 'blowing' method at the GTKY7 day. I would be more concerned about my wife walking in at the wrong time and questioning exactly where she fitting into this three-way love triangle!
