  1. Looks like I need a new one for my 2012 Sigma. the inlet hose has been over tightened, deforming the spigot and causing a weep. Does anyone know who the OEM is/was for these? Thanks
  2. Does anyone have any experience of having one of these made up? Unfortunately Oxted are currently not able to modify standard seats.
  3. Sorry, I should have said the car is a 2012 Sigma, formerly an Academy car.
  4. This is it./sites/default/files/images/users/421/P1040537.JPG
  5. Thanks for your responses. The wires are wrapped and disappear into the top of the fuse box so I can't tell their colour. I have two speed wipers but no intermittent, as far as I know.
  6. Can anyone enlighten me as to what this is please? It's an unpainted box about 50mm x 70mm bolted to the bulkhead next to the windscreen wiper motor. It has electrical wires coming from it plus an earth wire. It was the source of an annoying resonance (now fixed) and I'm just wondering what it does.

    Coolant level

Mine does that. I'd love to know why.
  8. The coolant level in the expansion tank of my 140 Sigma has always gone up and down depending on use. If I use it as intended it goes up and driven gently it goes down. The system has been pressure tested and is fine. It's a mystery to me and my best guess is that air is somehow being entrained at high revs, trapped somewhere in the system then released upon more gentle use. If anyone has a better idea I'd be interested to hear it.
  9. Thanks James. On closer inspection it does look like a hex rather than a torx.
  10. Could someone advise me about the correct tool to remove this from my BMW (open) diff please? It looks like it might be a large Torx type affair and if so I'll need to buy one. Thanks, Alan
  11. Oops, never was any good at sums. The search facility is still awful though. Alan C.
  12. I'm delighted to see this topic getting so much traffic. I have posted critical comments about the current website in recent times and have been puzzled by the lack of response to them. Of course the For Sale and Wanted sections should be separated but more importantly the abysmal search facility should be replaced by one that works as well as the old one did. This should not be beyond the means of a club with a £1m+ income. Alan C.
  13. Wheel now sold. Live axle diff anyone?
  14. 4 x 108, I think. Aren't these wheels all the same? I've not seen them fitted on a live axle car.
  15. Just to clarify... The dff. is complete and in it's cast iron housing.
  16. One 13" x 6" 8 spoke superlight wheel. Refurbished in anthracite powder coating and hardly used since. Comes with free CR 500 tyre, legal but not fitted. £50 ono. Open Ital 3.9 ratio diff purchased new from Caterham and with c.5000 miles use. In excellent condition (I changed it for a 3.6 one). £150 ono. Collection only from Canterbury please.
  17. If it does turn out to be the diff I have a 3.9 (open) one in good condition which is available. Let me know if that's of any interest.
  18. Hello, I would like this please. I've not bought anything on here before and am not sure how to proceed. Could you please advise? Thanks, Alan C.
  19. Just a thought.. I had a similar problem a few years ago which was resolved by having the wheels and tyres balanced by first mounting them on a tool used for balancing Citroen and Peugeot wheels which have no central hole. It seems that the centre holes on the Caterham wheels didn't correspond exactly to the centre point generated by the four mounting bolts.
  20. I have just visited an elderly enthusiast in east Kent who has a collection of these magazines he wishes to dispose of as a job lot. They date from the 1960s to the 1990s and I'd guess there are four or five hundred of them. Would they be of any interest or value to anyone?
  21. Thanks Jim I've just changed the oil and put 4 litres in. The level now is just below the max. notch with the O ring in place. I guess that's about right.
  22. Very interesting. I've always run my Sigma with the oil at max on the dipstick but on removing the O ring the level is well above this, as Gulf 1 says. I'd guess by about 0.5 litre. CC isn't much help - my handbook says capacity is 4 litres whereas the build manual says 4.5 litres. Anyone know which is correct?

    Bleeding Clutch

That's clever aerobod. Mine doesn't have a conventional nipple though - it's a black plastic device with a little open/close lever. Blue C7 - I think you are on to something. I had been cautioned not to rely on a moisture content meter for brake fluid as it doesn't accurately measure boiling point and this is safety critical. Ferodo sell a device to measure boiling point but I think it costs about £800. I can't see that the clutch fluid will boil however so I think I'll invest in a new gadget.

    Bleeding Clutch

Thanks Jonathon. There was some useful stuff there but why couldn't I access it from this site? Looking again at the bleed nipple, it has a plastic open/close key which I can just about reach from above. As long as this hasn't seized I should be able to manage.
