  1. On the backroad (Mansion Lane) heading from Iver to Langley. I waved from the knackerd blue rover 25 as I came over the canal bridge. Grebby
  2. Thanks. It is easy isn't it It had broken at the clutch end. Do you think that the lug will cause any problems? Am I going to have to fish about in the bell housing to it out? New one all fitted now. 😬 I'll look at knocking up a pedal stop to help stop it happening again. Cheers Guys Grebby
  3. I decided to go out for a play today and was just about to start the car when PING goes the clutch cable That's scuppered the plans to go to the AWESOME meet tomorrow 🙆🏻 Now I have a spare (somewhere ) but I've no idea how to fit it Is there anyone about who could give me a hand to put the new one on? I'm in Langley just off the M4 J5 Tea and biccies provided. Cheers Grebby

    15" CR500

I need to replace my rear tyres. What is the cheapest place to get 15" CR500s around the Slough area. I seem to remember that caterham themselves were cheapest to buy the tyres from but obvoiusly then need fitted. Does anyone know if I can get them (sourced and fitted) from anywhere closeish to slough? Cheers Grebby
  6. I'm sure I remember RiF saying to use a "used" (ie not brand new) drill bit and to wet the area to stop/reduce dust. Can't remenber if he recomended a drill speed? Grebby
  7. But the smoke they emit makes you care less about the cold 😬 Edited by - Grebby on 19 Oct 2008 20:11:03
  8. Just match up the positions on the connector/socket. That's what I did. I did use the new connector/socket as I was advised that the caterham one is a bit prone to melting. I'm sure I've got some photos around somewhere that I can dig out this evening if you want? Grebby
  9. I have an SV that has a dodgy clutch booked in at James Whitings tomorrow. Unfortunatly I went to start her up today and discovered (after getting the jump leads out) that the fuel hose (pressue side I think, the one on the back of the engine) has split and petrol being pumped everywhere. I spoke to James and he has a spare hose (which I hope to pick up today) but I was wondering if someone who knows what they are doing could give me a hand or offer advice on changing it over. I'm in Langley near Slough. Cheers Grebby
  10. IIRC it means that he is typing on a turkish keyboard and "i"s don't work.
  11. I've got a 500ish litre tank and stand + extras available for sale. I never quite got round to finishing painting hood or attaching the stand doors. Tank is 6'long by 1'6" front to back by 2' deep. Pics I've attached some pics of the tank/stand etc.(see above) The filter is a brand new and unused Eheim Classic 2217 Plus(suitable to filter just over the size of this tank), basically a very good german brand worth £80 and the various bits of bogwood(very big) were purchased for approx £120 (I think I cant really remember too well) there is also somewhere a barrel for water treatment, a heater(not emough to keep tank warm on its own), plus various pipes air line etc you can have. That and a 3foot tank that fits inside the stand that could be used as a sump or water treatment tank. I'm In Langley near Slough. It would probably be best to come and have a look. I may be able to get works pick-up for delivering if necessary but again would need to be discussed. I'm looking for £300 but am open to offers. Cheers Grebby
  12. 2000 odd miles all over the place in 2 and a bit weeks. I didn't see another caterham except pushing the canoe about last night and RiFs lovely all carbon one. I did get spotted when I went to fill up with fuel in scotland somewhere but no-one else saw me?? Ah well, back to work tomorrow Grebby
  13. I've got 2 of those. I think that they are the Wipac Quadoptic jobbies but I'll have to check. Where about are you?
  14. I've got a couple spare. They are from a 2003 SV with the blackpack if that makes any difference. Grebby Edited by - Grebby on 15 Jul 2008 10:00:32
  15. I can't find this anywhere and need to order a torque wrench. Does anyone have the value to hand? Cheers Grebby
  16. That could be it 😬
  17. Can't say I noticed, so I had to go and check. No but he can (possibly) count. You didn't put "2 ickle melty marks" in the filler cap. You managed 6 ickle melty marks, one on each of the pokey out grippy bits. You obviously did a lot better than you thought 😬 Grebby

Spotted by proxy (SWMBO) Maroon RE04KAT exiting the Red Cow roundabout towards toewn center and turning right into side road enthusiastically.
  19. Green with yellow stripe at 2:50ish today. I was in a white pickup going towards uxbridge. I did wave but I don't think you saw. Grebby
  20. Right, it would appear that there at least 2 different sizes of bolts. Thanks to Les G and Ian Reynolds I now have 2 bolts. Both the same size and neither matching what is on my car. I'll get them back to both of you ASAP. I have a SV with black pack and the bolts on my car are a larger diameter than both the borrowed ones(these will fit into the existing slot on the Cibies at 14 mm wide) Does anyone have a spare of the larger type knocking about that I could borrow? Cheers Grebby
  21. I have one complete with manifold behind my kitchen door. You are welcome to borrow it if you want. I will need it back soonish though because my MOT is also due soon. I'm in Langley just off M4 J5 Cheers Grebby
  22. Looks like I'm sorted Cheers Grebby
  23. I'm currently trying to change over my headlamps to some cibie oscars. The trouble is that they need modifying to fit, I need to file the slot on the bottom to fit the standard headlamp fixing hollow bolt. I have 2 of these but they are holding my lights on and I don't want to remove the lights at the mo because of the blat down time. Does anyone have a spare/old one knocking about that I could borrow? Cheers Grebby
