  1. I bought the Halfords pro toolkit for about £130 a couple of years ago (with lifetime guarantee) and have taken most of my car apart and the tools have performed excellently (pity about the bloke on the end of them though). The only extra thing I had to buy was a set of imperial allen keys As mentioned previously if you buy the vouchers through the club you get 10% off. Ian
  2. We've got the whole of the downstairs floored in solid maple that was glued to the concrete floor of our house when built (about 6 months after to allow the concrete to dry completely). It's been absolutely perfect, wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a method of fixing. I've still got a big tin of glue that was ordered in error if it's any use - perhaps GONADS could help shipping it from NI. Ian Editted to say it's been down almost 5 years without a problem. 3. my first car was a Fiat 500 and that had a very efficient hot air heater system, switched on by turning a lever on the tunnel that diverted the engine cooling air into the car. The heat was varied by opening or closing it a bit. It did smell of oil a bit though! You might have to souce an air cooled engine (and put it in the boot) for it to work in the caterham
  4. I had a similar problem last year when I sheared the locating pip off the lower lower cambelt sprocket (on the end of the crankshaft) that caused the fanbelt pully to flap around making a mettalic clanking sound. Take the fan belt off and see if the lower pulley moves around on its own. Ian
  5. mav I'd go for 5L as my car needs an oil change in the near future - but will it be a problem getting to Northern Ireland? Ian

    Clutch Cable

Always leave mine up on stands for 3-4 months every year without a problem of stretching. I haven't even ever adjusted it in three years of ownership!
  7. If you want any bits tested for wind and rain - send them over to Northern Ireland (very close to Scotland too). I've a well used, non-pristine car that would be a perfect test bed! Ian
  8. I replaced my Vecta with a Toad powerkey system and installed it myself without any problems. It's important to solder the connections and keep them well hidden - it involes unravelling bits of the loom but nothing too arduous. Toad works great - you have a little tranmitter on the key ring and fit a proximity sensor around the inition barrel and everytime you put the key in it's recognised and off you go. Ian
  9. Thanks, both options blindly simple! - you learn something every day! Ian
  10. Is it possible that when a link is clicked that it opens it in a new window rather than overwriting the Blatchat one. I find it a bit frustrating sometimes when I want to check the content of a post in Blatchat and cross reference it to the linked page. Sorry if it's been bought up before! Ian
  11. Hurray - offically a Windbag now - (is that better?)
